Flying V Neck joint

Recommended Posts

well there are a couple different takes on the V, guess i was thinking about another one, actually looking at it again you're right there wes, but i'd still go with the top right (although maybe not authentic) it would make for easier upper fret access, why not avoid the whole issue and just make a neck thru??

i am going to build a 7 string set neck v soon...the one on the lower left is almost like what i will use.as far as neck thru that would be cool but with a v ither way works well because the heel is left square.the reason i put the frets over the body on a v is because it brings the headstock closer in to your body for easier playability and it makes it hang better, without any heavy headstock issues

The Gibson V's and explorers have the neck tenon like the picture on the top left. But I would build it like the pic on the top right, and if you're going to use a pickguard you will hide the glue lines too, so I think that would be the best sollution :D
