The Icarus

My first build. Hand carved, ultra thin/light birch body (1 2/5 inches-ish thick), 25.5 scale. Warmoth Pro maple neck, indian rosewood fretboard, with a Wizard contour. GFS pickups, a Vintage 59 in the neck and a Power Rails in the bridge. Fender tremelo, push/pull coil-split, 3-way selector, locking tuners, and a killswitch. Hand painted design, and though hard to see the white actually has a pearl shine that changes color in the light.

This is my first guitar project: "Animals", recently completed and hopefully acceptable as this is a refin rather than a build.

It's a POS Herald (from Argos) 3/4 size classical acoustic which I refinished as a present for my girl:

It's not perfect, and I would do a lot of things differently next time around, but it's all part of the learning curve.

I'm also refinishing a 60's Teisco which may one day make it onto here:

I've been playing this thing a LOT. You can see that the back already has some buckle rash and scratching/dings around the heel. R.A.D. made me some really kick-a$$ pickups for this thing. They have all of the crunch you'd expect from a HB, but with a lot of bite and snap.

Hey Everyone! It's been a long time! I stopped posting my instruments in this contest a while back because I started outsourcing my spray finish work and didn't think that would be in the spirit of this site. I haven't finished much of anything lately, oiled instruments included. This is an OLD one I sprayed myself and finally finished up recently though. There is a long story behind this guitar but I'll just say I am glad to be done with it after many years.

This is "The Only SF2 Guitar"

Chambered Redwood Body

Nickel/Chrome Hardware

Locking Sperzels

Stetsbar OEM

Hot Nordstrand NDCs

650mm Scale

Mahogany Neck w/Maple & Walnut Lams

Ebony Fingerboard, Pickup Covers, Headcap, Heelcap, and Trussrod Cover

Abalone Dots

Master Volume/Master Tone/3-way

Schaller Locking Strap Buttons

Taking photos of a high gloss carved top guitar is a real pain in the ass but here they are!
