madhattr88
I got together with an inlay artist and decided to build something flashy and then (hopefully) sell it. I'm gonna post pics throughout the build...so here we go.
madhattr88
Scored a figured maple drop-top. 1/8" thick, not book-matched, but i love the figure.
rusty chisel
Interesting figure although I find it somewhat jarring since the figure of one side is perpendicular to the other. I would consider placing a dark wood stripe between to make the transition softer.
madhattr88
i do have another one that is book-matched, but with less figure. (see pic)

WezV
normally i would say you should go for what you like. but you did say: and then (hopefully) sell it. and that is going to easier with the bookmatched set. It may not be as figred as the other set but it would still count as 'flashy' and is nicer than some i have seen on very expensive guitars! VesQ
That pic is scary where neck lies on the table and truss rod is on the background.

Mender
That pic is scary where neck lies on the table and truss rod is on the background. LOL! no worries. just a dry fit for pics. no glue yet. As if anyone would ever forget to fit the trussrod before glueing the fretboard down... ...besides me Only ever did it once though. It's not the sort of thing you get caught out on a second time I love the inlays
Bargle
I would definitely go with the bookmatched set on something you're going to resell.
