sbskates
someone told me a tele bass uses the same size body as a tele guitar. correct?
Our Souls inc.
IDK for sure but I wouldn't think so. The scale on a tele bass is 8 and a half inches longer than on the guitar which would cause all kinds of neck dive issues. The body seems to be scaled up to fit the bass, much the same as a P-bass compared to a strat.
Workingman
I have a tele bass copy. While a copy it looks close and it is bigger. I don't see how it would work if it wasn't.
Ripthorn
You could move the bridge way back on the body and keep the body the same size. Lots of basses have bridges almost to the end of the body, but if you are going for a true copy, I would guess that it needs to be made bigger by at least a little bit. WezV
you can fit a bass onto a standard sized tele body, but iirc the actual telecaster shaped basses are elongated slightly to help with the neck dive issues
