guitarnut
Beautiful as always Crow. The carve is very nice! The fretboard inlays make me think of Bootsy Collins. I've been doing my carves with an Ibex plane but I'm very interested in learning to use a chisel like you do. What types and brand of chisels do you use? Peace, Mark

Mors Phagist
Looks awesome, great carve. I carved a PRS recently, and I could never get chisels to work right for me. I had to use rasps. Still turned out pretty nice, and I'll post pictures soon. Edited June 14, 2011 by Mors Phagist
jessejames
When I carved the top for my PRS copy, I just used a router and stepped it up then used a DA to get it all final shaped. It isn't dead on perfect like crow does, but it was my first try, and only took me 1.5 hours to do. For those of you who dont like the chisel approach. For those of you who dont like the chisel approach. looks good, but missing a lot of grit, as they own the technology, not really possible ... I am a roughing and a nice sheets, a chisel maker. I see that the edge of the rim is not raised like the original. And embossing can be a bit more because they are fairly flat. But I do not want to interfere, I trust the things you Edited June 15, 2011 by crow
