bassman
www and bluespresence........ that thing sure does make you wish you could come up with something that sweet and orginal huh? I been considering building one just like it for quite some time... however I would use a cocobolo fingerboard and a burled amboyna top- and neckthru mirds eye maple neck... I already have all of the wood If I decide to tackle that funky design i WILL lwt you all know- the hidden headless tuners (they appear to be the ABM system- which I have used before) may be a bit tricky- I wish I knew more about the pickup system on that badboy- I imagine that it is a simple undersaddle tranducer- but I may be wrong... any ideas on it? www
check these out... http://www.dammannbasses.com/ what do you think? of the highly contoured scroll horn? peace, RYan I don't think the horn and my belly would be a good match. But those Pagelli basses do something for me. I'm not ready to tackle a project like those yet. Maybe in a couple more years (or twenty). Setch
word. if someone pays 18k for a guitar then they need to do a little research and find out that ebony laminates are about 200$ and not 1250$. i should email that guy and ask him what mystery sacred trees he thinks should bring about 500$ a BF Good luck making a living if you plan on charging material costs only. Guys like this earn their keep through building, and they charge accordingly. At some point demand starts to excede supply, and you're faced with a choice. Get hired help, and accept the potential for a drop in quality, or raise your prices. This isn't rocket science, or do you imagine everyone does this for a hobby...?
