agnarsv
Hello all, What is the "best" method to add line between body and body top (see image). Veneer, plastic trim or sheet. Any suggesting helpful. Regards, Agnar
Norris
It looks like the guitar is about finished. It will be difficult to fit a real binding without disturbing the finish, as it involves removing wood. In which case it might be worth considering a faux binding i.e. paint it on carefully
agnarsv
This is not my guitar, the image is just a reference. The effect that I'm seeking is the blackish line between body and body top and the "best" method to get this
ScottR
The most common method.....around here anyway, is a sheet of veneer glued between the body wood and the top. You can also get that effect with a multiply binding, black on the bottom- white on top. SR
pauliemc
pinstripe it. easy as can be. unless you realy want it to be a black line of timber. you can get pinstripe tape in most decent automotive repair shops. any decent car painter / hot rod painter could do it in minits. Its gonna be under clear coat anyway so why not cheat if you dont actually need it to be timber
