tsl602000
Hi all, I'm between projects, so I decided to build me a Mary Kay strat (see through blonde with gold hardware). I never had the intention to relic this guitar, but I screwed up the finish because left the guitar outside too long while the temperature went down: cracks...... cracks all over. I kinda liked it and decided to leave it like it is. The neck was (just like most of the other parts) a left over that wasn't good enough for my regular guitars and I might replace it someday later. I bought a bunch of alnico pups on ebay for $30 that sound unreal. I dunno what they are, but suspect them to be Fender fat 50's as the middle pup is not reverse wound. Guess what? this guitar sounds awesome and plays like butter. One of the finest strats I have and have played. Specs: Ash body nitro finish one piece maple neck with linseed finish (yup, that'll relic this bitch really easy.. ) Neck is HUGE pups: God knows what, but they sound awesome edit: mod, you might wanna put this is in the finished works section.... sorry... here's the pics: Edited May 17, 2004 by tsl602000

tsl602000
The hardware needs to be relic'd too IMO It will be... in about a year of playing. The hardware on a strat I built a year ago already looks like it survived WWIII

It's like it's calling to you...come...pick me up and play me... Looks very worn-in and comfortable.

gw_guitars
Hey Coen, Beautifull guitar man, love it. Jan Akkerman used to have an old Gibson Les Paul with a kind of crackled finish I think that is beautifull Also my father has an old Levin acoustic guitar with such a crakled finish. You should do anything about the hardware it will wear off when you play it. I think it's perfect this way. Toppie Gerard
