  1. If your worried about putting a strap pin on it, you could always put the strap pin on or around the neckplate. Just a thought.
  2. I think Lee Valley has Tru-Oil if theres a Lee Valley near you.
  3. When I first saw the title of the thread I thought that it might be a little cliche. But that is a really cool guitar! The skull is awesome. Good Job!
  4. Looks Good! Glad to hear you don't have to wear gloves anymore. What colour will the hardware be?
  5. Yeah I'm kind of in the same boat as you dpm99. As in, I need a good drilling set up. You should at least have something to keep your drill at the angle that you want it, mostly perpendicular. Especially for the holes for string through bodies, cause last thing you want is to have all the strings coming out all crooked on the back of your ax.
  6. From the google search I just did, New Guinea Rosewood looks pretty nice. I think it would look good in a trans or natural finish. It might be a shame to cover it up in an opaque finish. Just my opinion though. Good Job so far!
  7. Thats really cool! I wouldn't have been able to think of how to make that headstock work! Great Job! Post some sound clips if you can.
  8. Whoa those Hemp guitars don't sound half bad in the sound clips.
  9. Yeah I agree, you might not be able to fit pickups and the spring cavity. Make sure you measure first according to what pickups you're using.
  10. Yeah maybe. But then wouldn't it make them all light up? Maybe thats what the diodes are for? I'm not good with electronics so I dunno. Here's the diagram he gave:
  11. Thats so cool! Yeah I wonder how he wired it with the fret.
  12. Sorry not quite my cuppa. Sounds like you had some cool ideas and lines in tracks 5, 6 and 7, but they didn't really go anywhere and rambled a bit for my liking. I tried playing a fretless guitar once and I was miserable at it so I can appreciate your intonation! Good Luck!
  13. If you decide to build your own body here is a blueprint: http://static.keebali.com/jemsite.com/jem/...7_blueprint.jpg I started to make a template out of this.
  14. I think your fine putting the logo on the Squire as long as your not making a business out of it and cranking out fake Fenders to customers. If your just doing this for your personal preference then its fine. And if you decide to sell it down the road, just let the person know its history. PS. I didnt even know Squire made 7's. Cool. $132 isnt shabby either.
  15. Was that the one with 13 strings? Cause that was a pretty bad one too IMO.
  16. Thats one of the coolest lap steels I've ever seen. Congrats!
  17. I noticed there was one spammer who did like 5 of the same posts today. Usually a spammer only does one post and hits the road.
  18. Wierd. It might be that you didnt completely cover the back with white and that some of the wood coming through is making it look pink. Do you have any pictures? Good Luck.
  19. Yeah the only guitars that I didn't really like that paintjob on were the LP and the Firebird. Other than that I think it would be really cool. So is Formica a type of plastic or something?
  20. Dude I love the paint job on the croc! Great Job.
  21. Not so much the one on the left.... But the one on the right makes me cringe!
  22. I cant get enough of this guitar! Cant wait to see it finished! Amazing.
  23. I never thought about that, I just never made the connection. That makes a lot of sense though.
  24. Thats some nice lookin lumber! I will be watching this one! What kind of finish are you planning? I'm assuming clear. I like the "double bookmatch".
  25. Yeah, you dont want to build your ax and have it be your pride and joy, and then it starts to get a terrible bow. If you want to be able to play your guitar for any stretch of time I would strongly strongly strongly suggest a truss rod. Good luck on your project.
