  1. Update: The dream 180s sound great. very well balanced. the bridge has a bit more output and highs than the neck. They also look cool
  2. Well, I may not even have one to show. If I can find the time to get the damn thing buffed, polished, tuned and intonated, I'll bring it. I have like what....a week? Possible, not likely.
  3. I had the same situation with a piece of melamine I was cutting. If th blade binds or pinches, which with green sappy wood is easily done, it'll kisk back. Hence why you NEVER stand in the blade path. One should be aware of what a tool can do in positive and negative results, and be aware of how to avoid things like kickback. One way is not to use the fence on a crosscut. On a similar note, a while back I was cutting some beautiful mahogany. The saw kicked, and I realized something. My fingers are WAY more inportant than a piece of wood. No matter how pretty it may be.
  4. a 1/4" roundover would be fine. You can get one of those bits at a decent hardware store
  5. IMO, OFR is the only way. OFR and a d tuna flush mounted is the best setup for me. I also like my springs stiffish
  6. Perry Ormsby has a good pic on his site. I'll dig it up.
  7. It seems floyd will NOT be releasing it
  8. and the neck joint. trust me, David is right.
  9. obviously, they look horribile. xebryusguitars, I feel sorry for ya. that body may have a good finish, but it really isnt worth much. Big D, you go off on rants about Ebay scams, and then you admit you botched a body, and mention you plan to sell it on the bay?? Hold the phone. If you want to talk ethics, show some yourself.
  10. I'll tell ya, a Hamer californian neck would do it. They surface on Ebay occasioanally
  11. it look like it broke right on the scarf joint. make a new headstock
  12. purpleheart/ebony is pretty snappy....my tele has snap for days. All ebony would likely be a tad snappier tho.
  13. When using oak, I prefer quartered white, but red would probably suffice. Personal opinion: Use the oak for a table or something. If you're too cheap to buy wood, you're also willing to cut corners elsewhere.......believe me, I am trying to break those bad habits, so dont pick them up.
  14. yeah....it confirmed what I said......except about basswood. Basswood is about one step up the chain from balsa as far as hardwoods. Alder is better by a million
  15. Another discussion on wieght and tone ratios. I dont buy it. mahogany is heavy as all hell, and is dark. Maple is bright and heavy. Cherry is brighter than maple and medium weight. Basswood is just plain cheap. Buy alder.
