  2. or as fender called em moto (mother of toliet seat)
  3. In a week that would be about now right? Or sooner?
  4. the duoverb is an older model i think. i just sold my flextone II for $399 used. Not a bad choice just not MESA.
  5. Acoustics are their own beast wood is what its all about there. I love my tacoma road king. I never knew the difference until i started playing a friends breedlove... Ignorance is bliss you may want to take the blue pill and save cash My theory on electric guitars is play them unplugged. The pickups only amplify whats already there. Then start plugging in. On top of playing them id look at fret finishing, parts fit, finish etc... Again ignorance can be bliss once you play a perfectly setup guitar everything else isnt so great. As i've said before ive picked up cheep guitars from a great store(Elderly) that they set up and checked that are just as well set up as my custom shop strat...
  6. depends on what your looking for in tone. in that price ranged id deffintley be looking used. For all tube stuff id check the older crate vintage clubs(the only crate's ive liked) i got my mesa studio 22 for $400. The loudest 22 watts ive ever used.
  7. jeremy did it as a tribute and isnt going to be marketing it in thousands of music stores around the world. and yes both cynical and jaded and slightly monochrome delerious. i just dont trust big companies probably cuz i sit in the midst of one of the biggest as i type this
  8. I have a friend here in vegas that cuts vinyl. Let me walk out to the floor here at work and talk to him. I'm out of town for the next 10 days but i'd love to catch your band. Im also in a band in vegas looking to gig. I'll pm after i talk to my vinyl guy we've been talking about colaborating on guitar graphics for a while.
  9. looks kinda cool but nowhere in vegas actually carries gibosn custom shop stuff. nice to see a major corporation capitolizing on a huge tragedy. i respect them if they donate the funds somewhere, other wise whats next the roy tiger striped special?
  10. depends on the manufacturer some are better then others and if you can look through 20 or 30 you will usually find some way better than others. mass produced, lower quality controls do let a nice one slip through from time to time
  11. your picking up interference from something not being shielded. thats why i suggested the swaping of individual items to troubleshoot. usually this sort of thing happens at high gain settings.
  12. you know one of the ways to become an advanced member is to contribute files of value. Dunno what criteria brian uses for this but i think an rg pickguard template done well would get you a good portion of the way there.
  13. id try it with a different guitar and then look into the shielding.
  14. went to the local radio shack today. they dont carry balance pots anymore but hey plenty of cell phone accesories. did you need a satalite dish? how bout crappy rc toys?
  15. thanks jehle. ill stop by radio shack today and look. btw is it you selling the guitar building stuff on ebay with the pics of your guitars in it.
  16. It may be the cables involved. Usually this happens in high gain settings I used to get it with several distortion pedals on at once. It also may be the amp. to troubleshoot: 1. Try different cables 2. Try different guitar 3. Try different amp/try lower gain setting 4. change effect setting/gain try these and let us know the results to give suggestions on fixing.
  17. Just wondering if anyones ever tried putting a balance control in place of a volume control? I have a 2 wire 2 humbucker guitar id like to try this in instead of a selector. It'd be kinda cool to blend rather than switching, plus i do a lot of volume control swells and think this would add to the craziness. If you used it what actuall worked and what sucked?
  18. The biggest problem will be dirty sounds running an electric guitar through and acoustic amp. Typicaly the high end will sound really bad and buzzy. Horns and Tweeters do not distort like 12" speakers do. Just my experience.(Part of why I hate running direct on my electric rig)
  19. i finally made the jump and got a Mesa Boogie V-Twin. Now thats a pedal 16lbs diamond platting and tone for days. Admittidly not for the faint of heart, light of wallet or weak of back. Actually mine was only $200 used looking at other D pedals not a bad deal at all.
  20. i got em to work by going to jemsite in the new window then reclicking the link. I think they block outside linking.
  21. I cut a channel for one yesterday by using the table saw. the blades 1/8 wide so i cut down the center line and then realligned the fence to shave a little more. a little sanding and a slight tap of the hammer and it was in. not the easiest way and somewhat time consuming, but it got the job done.
  22. I'm on Brians side. First of all I dont think any of us would like to see the bill for running this place each month. Since the plans add a high dollar value to what we get here to kick him $10 or $15 bucks is no big deal. Look at it this way one set of plans will cost you that much.
  23. Thanks for the kind remarks. My point was you could easily buy a cheep jazz box to put the pickups in. I'll be sure to keep all my other helpfull suggestions to myself to avoid banning.
