  1. except that i never claimed to be using logic in my argument.unlike you,i have no need to "butch up" my touchy feely stuff with a false claim to logic.i am secure in my masculinity. ooohhh..SNAP!!!!
  2. for sure..but like jon said,that doesn't mean it can't be done
  3. can i just sat one thing about premade factory necks?yes, they are an easy shortcut...but tonally they are much less "alive" than a good handmade neck built from carefully chosen woods... they are just inferior in so many ways...BUT that is only if you can build a nice neck...it takes much practice to produce a superior neck...but once you do,there is no going back my guitar with the carvin premade neck through is sitting in a corner, stripped of all of it's hardware...never to be used again.
  4. you should try it like erik said...don't think of it as a craftsman job, think of it as painstaking... you just have to be patient and willing to redo what you are not happy with. personally,i would use ebony or bubinga binding with that top,but that is because i like offsetting colors.
  5. yes,you can do that...but it works best on a thinner guitar, front to back... but you could also put a matching top and back on the guitar and "hide" the neck through that way,so that you could keep a clear finish.
  6. from what i have heard of zw these days,i think he is just past the point of writing good solos...so i guess it is a good thing that he is a great rythm guitarist.
  7. ya dood soooo kewl!u r kewlr then ise kreem on hot daa!!! rotflmao cuz u soo kewl!
  8. sooo...you believe this is intelligent criticism? sorry greg, once again you are just mislabeling your "touchy-feely" stuff as "logic".nothing personal, but in point of fact, you are actually not a logical or lineal thinker by any means.that is not a bad thing, but you should not keep crying "for the love of logic!" when it's more like "dude, that's the way i feel" maybe you guys would have preferred satriani to stand straight up and look bored?... but in all honesty these type of comments just crack me up,as they are too egotistical to take seriously.
  9. seriously?you guys think you're qualified to critique satch? let me know where i can purchase your vast array of albums,so that i can listen to how much greater you all are than him. and why not worship hendrix?what deserves more respect than killing yourself with drugs?i mean, that puts anna nicole and hendrix in the same league,as far as i am concerned.
  10. just to clarify...i did it before carvin did.it works very well, but you need to make sure to buy the t.o.m. with the screwdriver slot on the top of the studs so you can easily adjust bridge height
  11. right about the time he went off on his own. i used to like his work with ozzy quite a bit,but now it just seems like it's all about the image.
  12. yeah...if you took off the sg rear and made it a vee, then it would be nice.but we already have that...it reminds me of when a kid will come in here and say "look at this sketch i worked out in geometry class",and it turns out to be an exact split of two pre-existing guitars..."look how original i am"
  13. U.G.L.Y. you ain't got no alibi you UGLY!!(bum, bom, bom, tish) you UGLY!! yeah i just don't like it.reminds me of a dog with two butts
  14. drummerdude...as was said before,it is not a magical procedure....you just need to follow all of the tutorials already written on the subject on the main site.you were already given a ton of advice on this,i just don't understand why you haven't followed it.by now you should be well aquainted with the theory,if not the actual work.
  15. very nice, but in the future you should have the outline completely finish sanded and all the lines finalized before doing the bevel...it saves a ton of sanding.
  16. it just looks like typical curtaining to me.you need to look into proper spraying procedure, then practice on scrap. it also looks like you may not have cleaned the surface well before spraying
  17. i don't know.i wondered about that myself,but it is a small inconvenience.
  18. by looking at them(i have seen these before),i would use the "medium" output set for metal... all this "higher output= metal" stuff is a little hard to take...you don't need all that...you just need clarity in your pickups and a good amp
  19. what i meant is you should post the question there.think about it a bit,if you do get the answer,we want it in that topic...because it IS pinned. posting a question in a pinned topic is perfectly legitimate around here
  20. whut yu meen??? you guys are going to eat your words when i complete my "slambang" novella.
  21. oh....i forgot to say what i like about mine.how about "loud and brutal"?
  22. (cough)pinned topic right above this one(cough)
  23. just so happens i installed a wraparound on my beast.i really can't tell you that i feel much difference from a t.o.m. at all,but i don't feel like the strings are overly stiff either. that guitar plays very smooth, but it also has ss frets and a graphite nut...and about a 7 degree headstock angle
  24. 100 watt engl powerball through a 15 band eq,a sonic maximizer, and a full stack of marshall 1960 vintage cabs.
  25. yeah i have used finesse it as well.NOT on the fretboard(duh)
