  2. No, you also need a WOD to call your own so that when something is only "great" and not spectacular you can feed it and restart so you only coem out with spectacular gutiars
  3. I posted a sound sample.... ← Sorry, My bad I posted that really late last night Sounds great keep up the good work
  4. I did the same thing Im dumb somedays
  5. I know the thread in question and its somewhat more pleasent now that it has been moderated. Thanks team
  6. I almost exclusivley use the bridge pickup on a 5 position switch i use the bridge position 90% of the time and the neck position 10% of the time. The middle and everything else normally goes unused.
  7. Sweet guitar I wish I owned one like that. Whats it sound like?
  8. To what BigD said, I was a newb (and still am I guess) around here just a couple of months ago... I never got my heart ripped out and I'm stil lhere and I love it. I think that newbs need a little common sense and know when to back off a little. It's like coming into class late, you don't walk in and make everyone tell you what they just learned because that interrupts their learning and the teachers teaching, plus you're gonna get disicplined because a)you're late and b)you had to restart the class. Instead you go in after class and find out what you missed. Alot of newbs don't want to take the time to "stay after class" so to speak by using the search function or reading around to see if they can find their answers. Instead they ask the question and open themselves up to the "discipline" that they would recieve if they were interrupting everyone else for their convienience. Thats just my 2 cents. Spencer
  9. Right now I'm playing a floyd with heavy bass strings and thin treble ones 9-46(i think, the bass ones might be a little heavier) and I like the tone I get but I think I'm gonna switch back to 9-42s because i have my spring claw all the way to the back of the cavity but i still can't get it to sit parallel to the body . I think I'll throw the heavier ones on non trem guitars though just because I like them . Anyways,I keep my action pretty low, especially on the treble side but the bass sides nice and short too but It'll be lower as soon as I change strings again.
  10. Put a shirt on! Jeez Nice stuff, what guitars are you making exactly?
  11. I love things get so off topic lately, first star trek and now fishing Welcome to PG,don't worry,we don't bite, except the WOD
  12. I do agree that some people here don't have much of a sense of humour and others at times have too much I think drak and Wes and some of the other guys who are sort of "key" members here have a sense of humour and kinda like to goof around and tease each other, and I think its cool. If someone here teased me I might have a laugh about it (depending on if it was funny or not ) and I might tease them back. With recent events and people saying that we don't have a sense of humour,it helps if you say something funny . As for newbs I was never treated badly or mocked or anything when I first signed up on this forum but also I think that the newbs need to read some stuff on the mainpage and some threads to a)maybe find the answer to the often asked question that they have or realise what the attitude of this forum and its members are so that when they get here they don't suffer a massive culture shock. All in all this is a great forum, the best I've ever been apart of because most of the members here know what they're talking about, are adults and mature(I can't believe I just said that about you guys ) and you don't bullshit anybody about anything. I was recently on another forum that I occasionally visit and someone had written a "how to article" on how to buy a guitar, I figured I'd give it a read. The author filled his guide with false information, lack of inmportant information and an overall lack of knowledge on his subject. So I rectified all his mistakes in 3 posts(because it coud'nt all fit in one, thats how bad it was). After fixing his mistakes to try and help new guitarists not buy a complete POS I was flamed by several members because "its good for a beginner" or "it missed somethings but was pretty much good" and my favourite "you're a dick, the guy knows what hes talking about,go learn how to play guitar". Anyways just a little bit of perspective as to why this is the forum I call home..out of all internet forums that is
  13. What kinda size walnut body blanks could you get? And how much would you estimate it to cost. Also, how much are you looking to get for the Mahogany Blank?
  14. Oh come on drak thats ridiculous, but I guess the WOD's got to eat eh? Why did Wes dissaprove? And I have to say that the one yo're workin on now is lookin very very nice.
  15. Well I heard the JB is alot like the custom except with a more brittle high end and I'd rather have a smoother high,I'm just mroe concerned about harmonic response.
  16. Hey everybody, I know theres alot of questions about pickups around here but I have one(and I've researched and i know exactly what I'm looking for so I was hoping you guys would help.) I have a guitar routed hum-sing-hum and I have cheapo pickups for it right now because I'm doing it on the cheap, but I've decided to ask about upgrading the bridge pickup to something better. I've been looking at the Duncan Custom, The Duncan Distortion and the Duncan JB. I want smooth highs that aren't harsh, I want a fair size midrange, I don't want it scooped and a noticable but not huge bottom end. I read all the reviews on Harmony central but they either don't know what they're talking about or they all have differeing opinion on some issues. I also want to be able to hit pinch harmonics fairly easy because I can play pinch harmonics because of done them easily on other guitars before but on my current main guitar I always have a hard time hearing them. I want to be able to play metal but also bring it down for classic rock style songs and I don't want it to be too bright. A short list of bands I play would be.. Iron Maiden(hot rails) Judas Priest(EMG) Metallica(EMG) Megadeth(JB) Guns and Roses(Alnico 2 pro i think?) Van Halen (custom wound bastardized pickup) If I can't get all of this in one of those pickups,or any pickup it would be much appreciated if someone could give me another suggestion or a suggestion out of those pickups. Thanks, Spencer.
  17. When i heard "drak sauce" the wheels in my dirty dirty mind started spinning
  18. http://projectguitar.ibforums.com/index.php?showtopic=17644 there was a thread about bridge placement the other day,i hope this helps.
  19. Nice to have you back, I must be gettin old, years keep seeming shorter and shorter.
  20. I like the one on the left(top) wing but i think the other one could've been left out, I still like it though, I need a job:( .
  21. I have a 22 fret 24.75 scale(i think) mahogany (i think) with ebony fretboard, and block fret markers(like the les paul custom) its no name but it works fine and the frets are in pretty good shape, it has a standard nut and you'd want to mod the headstock or repair a piece that broke off but poses no threat to structural integrity. I can get pictures if you're interested.
  22. Don't get that,it has an oddball single locking floyd rose bridge which is missing a saddle and bar from the looks of it and the afermoentioned crack on the back. That one has $75 for shipping which effectively lowers the maximum price he can afford to bid on the item. (and thats in USD which is probably around 90-95 CAD) Thats got an agathis body which as far as i remember reading is sorta like using plywood for a body, and those pickups really suck you'll want to swap them out. that a)only ships to the US, and is at $155USD plus shipping to someone in the states plus shipping to him puts him over the price range again And the LTD is agathis too but out of the posted that would be my choice.
