    I've seen a couple warmoth guitars with a translucent Mary Kaye White finish that looks great on zebrawood.

    I'd say go for the refret, a new neck would make it a whole different instrument in my opinion.

    I love how it was listed as a custom strat guitar body, yet I can't find one aspect of a strat on it...

    The Baby Grand bridge really lends itself to the design, I like it a lot.

    Or just use regular batteries, they really don't run out that often as long as you unplug the cable from the jack, it seems like your going to be going through an awful lot fix a simple thing that doesn't necessarily need fixing.

    My AC Moore sells basswood dowels and basswood for whittling, check a craft store.

    Great build. The only way I could see the electronics working is by using the EMG solderless set up, but that would seriously limit your pickup choices. Given the right amount of time and effort, you could really come up with an ingenious solution for the wiring I'm sure.

    For every guitar you measure from the nut to where it breaks over the saddle regardless of what type of bridge it is. To me it sounds like you screwed it up a little, but you can probably still make it work.

    Cutting out the profile Rough profile Sanding out the saw marks, the larger ones were sanded out with a belt sander The neck contour was belt sanded out, but I couldn't take picture since I had to hold the neck steady, but here's the roughly finished product. I went with a trapezoidal profile that is more of a mix of a standard thin with a trapezoidal than a full on Rick Toone style one, as I found this more comfortable.

    I finally got to work on it again this weekend. I got the body's final outline cut out, and the neck roughed out. Here's the outline Here's the wenge for the neck with the template on top. I can get another whole neck out of this one. Wow wenge takes forever and sounds painful when you cut it. The top edge cut out

    Did you check the ones on the emg site or email them about custom wiring diagrams, because they have both there.

    I say do a redo. Or maybe just try a Warmoth first, then reattempt this, or just make a playable guitar with this and other parts, but don't give up.

    For a Floyd you are going to need a minimum body thickness of 1 3/4".
