When I buy a tube amp I am definately getting one of those boxes. Half stacks aren't exactly neighbor friendly.

I played one of those the other day, it was very comfortable and it looked great but there was so much fret buzz. It was driving me nuts. I doubt the kids at guitar center took the time to set it up so I will not form a permanent opinion on this guitar based on playing only this one. I liked the arm carve aswell.

maple , swamp ash, mahogany. alder and basswood are out, WAY too light. I think Mahognay or Swamp ash would be best for keeping the twang out, maple would be very bright. You'd pretty much have an 8 string telecaster and we know you on't want that. : )

It should come with the wiring diagram. If it doesn't the EMG site has it. The Controls just sort of pop together, So no soldering involved.

I would go with a carvin, a MTS 3212 is like $400 on ebay and it's said to be very versatile.

Couls just be the neck selections pole, and the other poles are fine, who knows.

I don't think that you could put enough pressure on a bass string to make it "lock". especially with those swa-toothed little wheels on the backs of sperzels. Bass tremelos are a rare occurance so there really isn't a huge demand for locking tuners.

Yes, yellow first, then green. There are a few good painting tutorials in the tutorial section, along with the "poor man's burst" which I think will come in very useful in this project, good luck.

Yeah, but I'm not sure how well bass pickups would recieve the light strings' sound.

You could do the ol' 6 string pickup and a bass pickup for the top two strings.

Conklin has 8 string humbuckers but I think it's like 400 dollars for a pair.

Done correctly, a bolt on has just as much sustain, tone, other key voodoo words as a set neck.

I think I'll go with eiher scalloped or plain oak. It'll be pretty tedious to scallop fanned frets but, the look of them afterwards will be just plain cool.

My issue is with availability, i need a board 4 inches wide and 36 inches long, and I wouldn't know where to find sych a board, I'd go with mple though if I could find the right size piece.

Scalloped would be really cool. Well, It is going to be and odd length, fanned fret FB so I need a place where I can get a board like 4 incehes wide and 36 inches long. at home depot the have poplar which may work (may used lightly) and pine which flat out WOULD NOT work.. There's always oak, thats hard and stable, would oak work?
