  1. You should read April's GuitarWorld magazine. JoeSatch talks about his soloing and you'd be surprised how much of his soloing is spontaneous and other cool Satch moves of course 500+ ppl wow. *jealous -IR
  2. Good stuff.. Physics mostly taught me how and why circuits/cap/volt/resis works.. but not much about applications... It'd be great if someone made a simple comprehensive tutorial..? Yes it's a request.. -IR
  3. Just to let ya know (If you didn't know) Grizzly has an Amazon store (doesn't have eBay though ) -IR
  4. Before you do anything.. It's best to take a little break from it and chill Or else... you will end up doing something to your guitar/fret..etc.. Like me.. stabbing my guitar with my brush. -IR
  5. Something I've noticed with the FloydRose routes On SteveVai's JEM JEM There is a little "bevel" routing after the FloydRose. Like a little scoop marks. What's that for and why does very *some guitars have it and most don't? -IR
  6. k.. quadriple posts.. Hm.. When you say "put it as tight as I can" do you mean that the screw is Completely In? or Almost at the point of losing the saddle? Cus.. if your intonation's sharp.. you should loosen it... Generally speaking your lowE should be the tightest (screw is most completely in) ...................--- ........---....--- ....---....--- --- (Righthand guitar.. i have to put periods there cuz this post ignores spaces..) Obviously it's not to scale, but that's how generally the shape of your saddles in most guitars (left is lowE right is high e) -IR
  7. Yes, and almost all tuneomatics are tilted for that reason and its very visible. Not sure about the angle though. -IR
  8. At least in the future, you will know what to do in face of a threat (like this) Hoorayy! Btw you were quite lucky -IR
  9. If you have a really nice house system. Using amp modellings is not a bad idea. (GT8 most likley for metal stuff) -IR
  10. That really does look deep. Long fingers, eh?? Also.. Elaborate pls How much room do you have for mod. with active pickups? -IR
  11. Hey verhoevenc. Where did you get that purpleheart?? Also: Has that purpleheart been exposed to sun? I'm having trouble locating purpleheart within Canada.. but wouldn't mind going reaching out to the States or South America -IR
  12. Were you thinking of dying/stain/ or translucent finish? And is your maple handsome enough for those finishes? If you really want to, personally, I'd paint something just over the filled-hole.. Like.. a .... winnie the pooh.. ughh.. your face? hand print.. any image.. just enough to paint over it. OR!! Buy a veneer. Which I think would be an excellent idea. When you make a mistake.. Don't worry. It's not the end of the world.. (maybe not so much for necks...) Lettt your creative senses guide you. Ciao and good luck. -IR
  13. Popup blocker? Or this might be painful, but if your explorer has a status bar (the little gray frame on the bottom - says Internet with a picture of earth at right corner) If you put your cursor over the link, it tells you the link, and manually type that out.. And for the wallpaper idea.. I think it would look nice if there was 1 gigantic size in the front, and all these pics as the background. -IR
  14. Christian stuff.. nice. R you rich enough to get yourself a full stack? If you are, sure go with it. But if not there are good combo amps below $600, Randalls. I always liked their metal sound. And plus, I don't know how many amps you have, but if it's your 1st or even 2nd, I'd get the standards either Marshall or Fender, just cause of their versatilities (Some marshal half stacks are less than $800). Personally playing one genre 24/7 bores the crap out of me.. Just a comment Also, ah! Don't forget.! Good combinations/fit between the guitar and the amp. Over $1500US.. And oh, check out some Peavey and Ampeg stuff too. Not great, just decent, (I would tell you to try Crates too.. but.. I personally think most combo amps beat Crates in sound, but vice versa in $) but hey.. life gives you a lemon, you make a lemonade -IR
  15. Hey suicidecustom Can I ask where you got your blank?? My 2nd closest supply is about 1&1/2 hour drive.. and I dont have a car. (1st is always eBay) -IR
  16. I saved those pics into my computer immediately I saw them YOU GUYS SHOULD TOO!!!! If there was one word to describe it.. It would be "delicate" very unique high quality beautiful guitar.. Congrats. *applaudes* -IR Edit: How does it sound like??
  17. Play lotta arcade.. it helps.. seriously! -IR
  18. (aobaj;lskejroa;sdj;gklajflsdkasdf) WHATS THE NAME OF THE SCHOOL! IM TRANSFERRING! Keep up the nice work -IR
  19. May I just ask where are you painting that? and Nice job. -IR
  20. Totally subjective, but I won't argue.. because so are any religious/moral beliefs. meh.. they definitely have the influence. but their sound is very new and unique to generalize.. time will tell, and give them a name.. something like.. "progressive experimental 2nd wave emo" or something like that Thx -IR
  21. I asked the second question because I remember seeing a luthier who only mounts the pickup in the cavity.. So I did some search and got something, not much. but.. http://experts.about.com/q/Guitar-649/Pick...nstallation.htm Everything there is irrelevant.. except "...contact with more solid wood than the other pick-ups, causing more resonance" in the Answer section. Therefore I would expect more clarity in the tone. More definite and maybe even a brighter tone, No? and also not to drift away from my original question, paint = less contact with wood, by means of the paint layer acts as a little "wall".. -IR
  22. Ok.. then I was wondering.. a different question sorta Some people like the mount pickups ON the pickup cavity so it'll be in contact NOW.. if the cavity was painted would it still not make a difference? -IR p.s. Thx for the replies (and the jokes).
