  1. Not where I shop. Let me clarify. If its listed as 8/4 then it is approximately 2 inches, if its planed 8/4 then its typically 1-3/4 but still charged as 8/4. Are you able to purchase 7/4?
  2. We have the best prices for blanks - joined, glued, sanded and ready to cut. Most of the wood you will get from a lumber yard is rough planed or rough cut. 8/4 (eight quarter) is typically 1-3/4 inches thick however they calculate it as 2 inches thick. A board foot is width x length x thickness all in inches divided by 144. Our 14x20 body blank is about 3.4 board feet (14x20x1.75 / 144).

  5. Most likely two of the wires are from each coil and the third is the tap in the middle or where the two coils are connected. A quick use of DVM will let you know.
  6. Maple fretboards are typcially finished clear but you can paint them with a solid color first and then clear coat.
  7. Hamer, Ibanez and I think Dimarzio experimented with a triple coil. Dimarzio still has the Multibucker which is like two single coil size blade humbuckers placed together in the same pickup.
  8. If you want another distortion pedal, go for the Line6 Uber Metal - it has a noise gate built in and is a very good metal/nu metal or "metal master" pedal. You can then take those others off your list as you should not be dissappointed. You don't have a digi reverb listed.
  9. Wire them in series and then tap them with a 5 way switch.
  10. The Marshall MG amps are made in Korea and not the UK plant. Behringer has a new plant in China called Behringer City which should improve their quality. We have the following combos (with mods) in our test room and or setup benches: Marshall AVT20 - modified power supply, updated opamps, converted to open back and speaker swapped - good amp. Marshall AVT275 - totally unhappy with. Speakers are good but preamp has no character. Marshall Lead 15 Micro stack - speaker swap - ok amp. Marshall DSL401 - no mods, good amp. These have gone up in price considerably in the last few years. Peavey Bravo 112 - updated opamps, speaker swap - excellent tube amp and we suspect its reincarnated in the Valveking. Peavey Studio Chorus 210 - modified power supply, updated opamps, modified distortion circuit, speaker swap - now a very loud 210, good amp. Peavey Audition Chorus - no mods, good bench amp. Peavey Backstage Chorus 208 - no mods, another bench amp. Behringer GMX210 - speaker swap, asthetic mods - good amp.
  11. To add to unclej's info, you can use a forstner bit to recess the inside area for a pot versus using a router. A 1 inch or 26mm bit works well.
  12. That is an excellent question we have pondered ourselves.
  13. Rear route thickness is variable and can depend upon the pot shaft and bushing length.
  14. I guess some of those do bleed then, we have tested some that do not.
  15. If its a LP switchcraft style 3 way toggle (not neccessarily switchcraft brand), those do bleed through a bit. In some cases it can be good as it adds a bit of bottom end when your are on the bridge pickup. If you use a box style 3 way toggle those do not bleed.
  16. http://projectguitar.ibforums.com/index.php?showtopic=24650 This has the power to piss someone off. Let's make a deal.
  17. Check your classical, it may be between a 16-20 inch radius. If you use a bridge which has individual saddle height, then you can accomodate most any fretboard radius. File your own nut and go.
  18. Generally the binding thickness is part of the total width of the neck so the fretboard will need to be routed to accomodate the intended width.
  19. Are you using a template now? What is your method?
  20. If the coils of the pickup have the same amount of windings the orientation may not matter. You can use some low-noise shield microphone wire to go to the jack.
  21. The pickup wire should be shielded and it will go directly to the volume pot, then a shielded wire to the jack from the pot should work well.
  22. Body length: 43.973 cm Body width: 32.702 cm
  23. Is that a switch? Don't recall a 1/4 inch jack having 6 poles.
