  1. My answer still applies, using vinyl decal for stencil work.
  2. Plasti-dip would work (i have used it on tool handles at work), otherwise find some tubing with a grippy pattern at your local rubber store... ..
  3. You can buy directly from Ibanez, it will mean you would have to auction your kidney on eBay though. eBay may have a few bargains and Rich at Ibanez rules might be able to hunt something down, as said before.
  4. 12AX7 power tubes right? I use EHX tubes, not really fussed on others as they do the job fine.
  5. That's the easiest method i know of, any sign writer should have a printer that prints on vinyl sticker/decal sheet or similar (same stuff used on work vans and other work vehicles) They just take your image from a disk and size it up for you.
  6. Bit harsh, as i am pretty sure he completed the build by himself from what i can tell.
  7. I can get one type of poplar here in South Oz, it's white, light and often displays light fiddleback figure, and is of course listed only as "poplar". Would that be Yellow Poplar too?
  8. I enjoyed looking at all of zacharies guitars, they don't look half bad and look fairly comfortable to play. I don't really agree with his marketing strategies, but he obviously gets them sold at the end of the day. I agree that $2700 is too much, thats more a price that you would pay for a custom guitar rather than a handmade guitar with features of the builders choosing.
  9. Go ahead mate, sounds like a cool project!
  10. I have used cherry before in other projects and it seems very similar to maple. It looks nice, carves and machines well and gives a bright tone similar to maple from what i can tell.
  11. I just space them apart so that the bridge cavity is as close to the bridge as i want, then the neck pickup is 3mm away from the end of the fretboard so the pickup ring has some room.
  12. Yes, check the warmoth body woods for an accurate tone description. Also, i have seen quite a few poplar pieces with fiddle back figure.
  13. Looks like one uses a locater pin, the other set uses screws, therefore they would be different sets.
  14. So it's basically a speed loader? Sounds like you need new springs, or a new bridge or nut, work out whats causing the problem. I have never used a floyd rose style bridge that returns to the absolute correct pitch when using the tremelo, i wouldn't expect it to.
  15. +1, there are many different and very easy methods of creating a perfectly workable truss rod. Here is how i build mine: http://guitarwoods.com.au/docs/Truss%20Rod...ion%20Sheet.pdf
  16. I don't think it will have a very noticeable effect, It might change the sound a little but not necessarily for the better.
  17. Heatshrink tubing will do what you want and it should equate to 6mm after its on the truss rod.
  18. Looks like Brazilian/Honduran Mahogany, bit hard to tell really.
  19. As in a Jackson or Ibanez headstock? 13 degrees.
  20. http://www.australiantonewoods.com/ Give Tim a call or an email and he will be able to track some down for you.
  21. One of my friends did the same thing when we were in school, his neckthru had no neck angle or rise, but having the bridge recessed worked out fine.
