  1. you are all too kind Some "in progress" binding pics: My homemade "bendingiron": I sprayed the "bindings" with water and bended: I used the pieces left after sawing the body to clamp the binding, glued with titebond:
  2. Thank you all! I'll try to get som binding pics up tomorrow. and some joint for litch
  3. Hi all! I just finished my 3rd guitar, a telesomething Some specs: Alder body with rosewood binding. Maple neck, rosewood fretboard and rosewood veneer on the head. Kluson locking tuners, I'm not sure about the pups, probobly a duncan in the bridge (someone sanded the top and bottom of it) and a fender japan neckpickup. I made my own switch and potknobs I have tons of "in progress" pics if anyone have any questions... More pcs HERE
  4. sounds strange to me... I ordered an upgrade chip for my pod from Line6 (I'm in sweden, L6 USA) I had the envelope after 3 days.
  5. Well, he said: We don't inlay in the fretwire, do we
  6. A week for me, nights, weekends. But I only have handtools, so with a planer and a bandsaw I guess I could do it faster
  7. The famous food thread... This is a "warning" post from me... I did NOT follow litch tutorial, and I did not use the same food dye. I guess what I want to say is, try the food dye at your own risk, for me it didnt work. this is how I did it: I dyed the wood (mixed the food dye with water) with red dye. Then I cleared it using "duplicolor" auto clear (rattlecans) 3 bottles or so. This is how it looked then.... and now... Now, this is just a cheap samick so no biggie, but if I had spent months building the guitar... Oh well I do NOT blame litch or anyone else, as I said earlier, I should have known better
  8. I think there is a wilkinson trem that can be locked with the arm.
  9. Very nice prices.... but for some reason those are not available for international shipping
  10. This was an easy choice I thought (Scott's dinky) until I saw Litchfield's new pics... But I had to choose one so... Scott got mine. Good Luck everyone!
  11. Ohhh.... I am in the easy group... Myka have made one of the most beautiful guitars I've ever seen, and those bindings... I did not vote for my guitar... Good Luck everyone!
  12. My FR2 is different from FR1, the edges are much softer on my FR2. But maybe some are better than others, I dont know
  13. The best "floyds" in my opinion (and I have a few...) is Edge / Lopro Edge with the lockable posts (ibanez, made by gotoh) and Schaller floyds. Floyd Rose 1 is OK, FR2 is crap, most "licensed by" copies are crap. Make sure the knife edges are hardened.
  14. http://portweb.webmonde.net/scripts/Portweb.dll?quickfind=PC 0307-001&catalog=allparts&template=preview Allparts have covers with no holes, the link above doenst work...
  15. I think no holes looks better.
  16. Check this site, they have a better thing for ironing... here...
  17. I'll get some pics of the fretpress, but its really nothing special, it just presses the frets in place Yes, the "binding" around the body was masked off. The knoob/switch depression (huh?...) was done by chisels, knife and sandpaper. Alder is a very nice wood to work with
  18. Why is this topic on page 2... BUMP OK, when I'm here bumpin I might aswell post an entry for may... Alder body, maple neck, rosewood fretboard fretted with jumbo frets. Ibanez edge tremolo, EMG / Select pickups. The "inlays" on the head and fretboard and the cavity covers are some kind of acryllic (spelling?) plastic.
  19. Nothing I have access to the machine at work. But if I would have paid for it I guess about 20 USD for the covers and inlays. Yes, thats my homemade fretpress it's not beautiful but it works... Really? maybe I will then
  20. The pickups are those cheap, passive EMG's wich I painted silver and put a chrome sticker on them. I'm gonna put "real" emg's in it when I can afford it... The neck wood is Maple wich I stained with "mahogany brown" The head has a rosewood veneer from the same piece as the fretboard.
  21. Nah... been there, done that No, really, since I won the GOTM for february, so I can't enter another one, right? Besides, there are so many great guitars entering gotm now so... Anyway... I have a simple site with some "in progress" pics uploaded, only pics no text since my english really sucks. I will try to write something to the pictures, but not tonight HERE And for the Swedish ppl I have posted pics and some info here: http://www.gmf.se/Forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=50712
