swirlslave
very nice for a first, a little too much brown in the swirl for my taste but it still look great. nice work, looking forward to see it with a neck and all finished!!!! Wademeister
I just wish that i could have made the clear coat flat... I don't know why not, The guys doing finish work at my place do that all the time. They shoot it heavy and sand in between coats until they get it the way they want. Sometimes they fill in 2 coats, sometimes 4 or 5 depending on what they have to work with. I like the swirl, nice blend and balance of colors to my eye. G_urr_A
I'm generally not a fan of swirls except for that "Hey here I am look at me ('cause I will burn your eyes to death)"-type of look. That one is a really good looking neutrally colored swirl. I wouldn't even mind owning a guitar with that paint job (and that's not something I'd say about "your average swirl"). Good job! Shoot the clear coat and wet sand with 1200 grit (or more). That's what you would normally do before polishing the finish anyway. Just skip the last step and, presto, matte finish! Maiden69
Like must I don't like swirls, (unless its on my ice cream) but I know how difficult it is to achieve the patter that you have set up in your head... nice done, a little to much brown at the bottom, but it gives it character.
