Jimm
The pics below are preliminary. Neck is on it's way to LGM for refret and neon dot inlay to match the body. Neck has a Maple fretboard. Headstock will have the same fabric. Body is Ash. Version 1 Version 2 Back(Will be more the blue in the fabric...if possible.) Comments are welcome!!! RGGR
Brrrrrr..........not my style. Sorry!
GuitarMaestro
Not my style too, as I could not identify myself with that kinda guitar. I still think it looks REALLY cool. Where will you get that kinda fabric? Will you dye the fabric yourself?
68 lost souls
Love the tie dye, I normaly dont like guitars with monkey grips but this one looks pretty nice.
sscovill
I don't think that's as much of a Vai dye-job as it is a Grateful Dead meets Ibanez dye job. I agree...not my style either, but who the cares what people think, as long as you dig it.
www
It is not my style either, but I think the second one is less bright than the first. Easier on the eyes. Don't let any negative comments stop you from doing it if thats what you want. It is you that needs to pleased with it , so go for it. Brian
I knew sooner or later you would get around to building that for yourself Does the old lady know yet?
lovekraft
What a great idea! Major "Trey meets Vai in a no-holds-barred Texas steel-cage showdown, loser leaves the WWF forever..." vibe!
Jimm
I knew sooner or later you would get around to building that for yourself Does the old lady know yet? She knows....not all that happy I started the project. Until she saw these pics. It will be a slow go as the body needs a lot of detail work that will need to be done before she goes off to finish (LGM). The fabric is a T-Shirt that will be here shortly. Jeremy has told me that cotton isn't the best, but it can be done. Something to do with the clear-coat process taking longer. Neck will be done before x-mas. Body after. I'll keep you guys updated as it goes along. Violetchrome hardware is my first choice, but will probably go with Cosmo.
