Hi Guys. I have seen a lot of moon and wolf inlays before, but I think this ones a little different. I didn't limit my moon to the basic pearl types out there. I made it more of a harvest moon, autumn colors. It's NOT shell.

This one is mainly shells and recon stone.

The moon is a special effect. Top secret but easy to figure out stuff :o)

Lets see if someone can figure it out first.. Then maybe I'll budge :D

No cheating by looking from other places!

Thanks for looking!

There is a fretboard and rosette that will be with this later.

Close, but not yet guys!

All possible methods though. This one was really easier than those, and WAY less time consuming. It does look like scrim though. Thats cool.

Fingerprints was closest yet!

Awesome work. I would have guessed blowtorch, too, but that one's already been submitted and turned out to be wrong. :D

I've never tried inlay, so my guess is probably retarded, but... did you use some kind of transfer paper to "rub" the print onto the moon? :D

Sorry about leaving you guys hanging!

Here's how it is.

Some were close, others were closer, but it's this-

Stew-Mac black epoxy dabbed very gently with the fingertips. Some areas came out too dark, and it's not as "moon" looking as I wanted, but the nice thing is after it dries you can easily sand it off and start over again until your happy!

Thanks for playing!

:D

With your fingers? :D

Yes with the fingers. And- the moon itself is a large single piece of fuax ivory. Basically plastic :D

Not the most "preciouse" material in the world, but the image means more than the materials to me.
