jer7440
That looks great. Nice work. What will your finish be?
SawDust_Junkie
That looks great RamaN, especially for your first guitar. Or I think that's what you were saying. I couldn't tell if you meant your first scratch build guitar, or your first neck-through, or your first Mockingbird. I like the headstock, very original. Great job on the body carving and the heel too. Very clean. Oh, and by the way, I love Weihenstaphaner ! Does that coaster mean it is your regular beer of choice ? I love Heffe Weisbeers. I also like one that a local grocery store used to carry, that I thought was even better. It was called Meisel Weis. An import from Germany too. Very good beer ! (Oh, by the way RaMaN, you need to cut all of these pics except one and just post a link to the rest. You how it is, those forum rules and all, one pic per post. Just wanted to remind you before the mods got here and did it !) Edited June 13, 2005 by Fender4me
Jester
That looks really clean and prefessional. Have you ever worked with wood before ? And about that neck... How did you cut those three pieces exactly the same ? (the third pic) Bandsaw ?
RaMaN
Thank you all . this is my first time with real wood . Till now i built RC planes made of balsa hard wood is new to me . The neck was cut with Bandsaw . I want to do a clear finish i thought to use clear auto paint since it makes a very hard shell around the wood. if someone have some better way to do that i am open to suggestions . http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y152/ramanff/100_2341.jpg ADMIN EDIT- Pics in posts should be no larger than 640x480. If you re-size the pic, you can add the IMG tags back in.

toddler68
Mockingbirds... ah, my favorite of the pointies! It has to be the coolest shape around. A truly successful mix of round and pointy. Excellent work RaMaN!
GreeneDick
Raman... That is insane. i am a beginner guitar builder, yet to build a guitar :s im going to start off just with the body and buy a neck, as i dont think i have the skills to make a neck yet.. ! what a top job that mockingbird is. My design is a Flying V with a Warlock hind/tail i am copying the routing pattern of my current guitar, a les paul, to prevent confusion. i plan on using a Kramer or Jackson neck. please email me if you have any tips. (that goes for everyone) they would be greatly appreciated. Things i need help with are: *Paint *Wood selection *Top/no top Cheers.
RaMaN
Cool i am wating to see your work . I think that the neck is harder to be built then the boby but not to hard . I built neck through the guitar and it was easy. i think bolts is harder to do because you have to aling everything . As you can see this is my first project and it looks ok The only fear i have with this neck is that i will shave to much wood over the trust rod chanel or it will be brake where the glue is because i glued it with 24 hour epoxy and i think i put to much hardner . I dont know about tops and paint but if you have other qestions just ask .

Pott
Woa this looks amazing! Makes me GAS for a Mockingbird haha! How big were the wings you used for it, and how did you determine the neck angle?
Kammo1
Excellent first guitar!!!!!! does this have a neck angle and how much ?? or is it straight ie parrallel ?? Kammo1
haggardguy
Due to the tuneomatic bridge i'd say it has a neck angle of probably about 1-3 degrees.
Hunter
Wow, looks really nice. Great job on that.
