Hughes
i was pondering and i was wondering if any manufacturer/person ever made a super tele? what i mean by that is that there is a super strat which is a pointy tele pretty much. so is there a tele like that? Mattia
Never seen one, and I can't quite picture how that would work.
lovekraft
IIRC, Charvel made a stylized-T singlecut with a Floyd Rose and either HS or HSS pickups back in the day (TX or TTX, something like that), and I've seen one singlecut T semi-hollow Ferrington. Don't remember much about either of them, except they were both purple, the Charvel transparent, and the Ferrington metallic-burst. Sometimes I miss the 80s'! GregP
Absolutely there have been super-teles. Mick Mars had one made by Kramer. The shape wasn't actually all that "pointy", though... it was more like what Van Halen did... his axes weren't actually pointy, either. (Heh, bet you thought you'd never see the day Mick Mars was compared to VH in a sentence!) I imagine if you took the Kramer idea but put it on a Pacifica shape, you'd pretty much have a super-tele. lovekraft
That's right - in fact, he had at least three; a Marilyn Monroe, and two Girls, Girls, Girls axes, one pearl white with lipstick script, and a black one with lavender block print on it. How could I forget those?
crafty
How about the Carvin SC, TL, and Holdsworth models? Or the MusicMan EVH/Axis?
Mattia
I wouldn't call the EVH/Axis models 'super teles', honestly. They're a touch too different for me, sitting quite comfortably between a Les Paul and a telecaster. They're really quite beautiful designs, though. Batfink
Hamer made the TLE models in '86 > '88ish and a very few of these came with OFR's and pointy headstocks. In fact there was one on UK Ebay a month or so ago that was picked up by a mate of mine. Jem

Mattia
Ibanez tele kinda, pointy ← Right, that just looks nasty and wrong. I'm not a big fan of pointy guitars anyway, has to be said, but that just doesn't work at all for me.
Marzocchi705
I dont know the link but Dan Gough makes a pointy tele. I got a pic, here . Edited October 13, 2005 by Marzocchi705

GodBlessTexas
You mean Izzy Stradlin', the one who actually had the song writing talent ! ← Yep, and the one Izzy was playing was an ESP custom carved top. ESP still makes some awesome playing Teles, i.e. Ron Wood's model. Remember the Alamo, and God Bless Texas...
