Hughes
so yeah Matt (METALMATT) has been helping me alot to come up with a unique guitar design...i he came up with one i really like. i only changed the part where the neck pocket is but other then that, its all Matt hope you guys like it...im not sure what all the woods are going to be...flame top and flame fretboard though dyed black so you can still see the figure. Fixed bridge and a push/pull pot for volume and tone. single EMG pick up.
Primal
Not really my cup of tea, but I'm really diggin' the back of that thing. Is there room behind the pickup for the bridge?
Hughes
the pickup i kinda just threw on to see what it would look like...dont worry, ill make room
!!METAL MATT!!
Ya I think the neck needs to be pulled out A bit And A bit more meat behind the bridge! but all an all I like how the design came out !!METAL MATT!!
Hughes
yeah ill do some mockups on some old poster backs and try to scale everything up
!!METAL MATT!!
since this is your first build man you should do plywood mockup's to get A feel for every thing, THAT IS AFTER IT'S SCALED OUT !!METAL MATT!!
Hughes
i got a good feel for all the tools and such...believe it or not my mockingbird bass came out good (aside that i ran out of funds and started guitar:P) but now i have a job and can afford parts:D
Duff Beer Man
you crazy kids with your pointy guitars, i will never understand yall lol.
lovekraft
I'm not sure how practical it is, or how well it'll balance out, but it's very visually striking, and extremely "evil (as in the fruits of the Devil)!". So let's make that, "You crazy old guys, with your pointy guitars..."!
Hughes
you crazy kids with your pointy guitars, i will never understand yall lol. ← i never was a fan of normal shaped guitar haha and i simply HATE strats
mailman
i dont like it looks too out of proportion and its more or less a warped out Warlock sorry Edited October 23, 2005 by mailman
mushy the shroom
Hmm.. I seem to be seeing a lot more of these recently. I must say, yours looks quite nice, and a little more original than some of the others. Although, one thing I would like to see would be if the scallops (I believe this is the correct term) in the sides weren't so straight radiused.. I mean, if you sagged the radius towards the bottom a bit, sort of like a hook, it might look a touch more even. But you know, you didn't ask for advice, so if you like it how it is GO FOR IT!!! I'd love to see this one get finished.
Hunter
I'm not too fond of pointy guitars to begin with, but the bottom-back portion looks way too small.
XPLOAD
The back section of it looks great, but im not really a fan of the horns, but if u like it mate, GO FOR IT!!! cheers, ashley
mailman
try drawing it out on paper maybe (if you cant use a CAD program) or even photosohp using MS Paint looks to be limiting your ability to try different arc radiai and get some cool angles going
Hughes
will do like i said, im going to add some meat on the rear and perfect/scale up the design, ill let you know soon

Lietuvis
I would try simpling it up a bit... maybe take out the two little circles in the cutaways... IMO, it's a bit too complicated to look really evil, but whatever floats your boat.

Lietuvis
That looks way better now. EDIT: I made a few rough changes in photoshop. This is what I would do with the design, but it's all up to you! Edited November 23, 2005 by Lietuvis
