NickCormier
the wings kinda look different from eachother.. make sure they're symetrical and it would be amazing.
NJD
Ah wicked! It's not normally my kinda thing but I’m really feeling it so far looking forward to futher progress
RGman
Looks awesome so far. An idea would be to clamp (or find another way to secure them together) the two sides together and then use various sized drum sanders to get them symetrical. Logical Frank
Looks rad. You should give it one of those bullseye paint jobs to contrast the pointyness.

The Skullsplitter
Hey thanks for the feedback guys. Yeah when John (Flon Klar Guitars) cut the wings he used the same template and then sanded them down to be exact. The pics were taken on a cell phone so they are not the best, which could cause the illusion of them being a-symmetrical. Thanks for the suggestion of the bullseye, but I have never been a fan of that paint-job. We are going to paint it gloss black, with the possibility of blood red bevels. Setch
I think the asymetry is just in the first pic, where one side is still rough cut on the bandsaw, and one side has been sanded. In the more recent pic they look to have both been sanded, and look pretty much bang-on symetrical to me. Looking good BTW, should end up *very* metal. Flon Klar Guitars
Just to throw in my $.02: Setch is absolutely correct; the 1st pic (which was never meant for publication!) shows a very rough unfinished cutout, while in the 2nd I have indeed clamped together and sanded the 2 halves. So, after I did the original layout for the Viszikon guitar, I decided to see what I could do based on the "V" style for my own bass. Introducing the Firebird... american_jesus
Introducing the Firebird... http://www.dropshots.com/photos/166367/20060926/123122.jpg ya might want to rethink that name... cool looking guitars on both parts. never been one for pointy or ridiculous guitars, but both are done very well...nice and out there, but not too extreme. jay5
I cant see the upper fret access being very good on that design, maybe move those horns out a bit?
biliousfrog
I see the resurgence of these "metal" guitars & all I can picture is 5' high men in makeup, capes & high boots .....since an encounter with Danni Filth I've not been able to take anything like that seriously. nicely built, not my thing at all but, I'll keep checking back in the hope that I can be converted. Doeringer
He's talking about the lower horn on the flon klar "firebird". It doesn't look like you will be able to reach the last 8-10 frets. But as always, very interesting stuff. I can see Prince ordering one soon
