tonebucket Posted October 6, 2003 Report Posted October 6, 2003 I have got a copy/file of a Jem all access neck heel. If you would like a copy to add to your CAD drawing. please let me know. Have you any tips for using CAD?? Quote
Guest AlexVDL Posted October 6, 2003 Report Posted October 6, 2003 Hey Tonebucket, I already have the measurements for the AANJ, but if you could send me yours I can compare to be sure PLease send it to alex@vdlguitars.com I will draw them into my Jem drawings and I shall send them to Brian so he can put it up in the download section. Thanks, Quote
krazyderek Posted October 6, 2003 Report Posted October 6, 2003 i think kurt incorporated it into his UV design in the download section. but could i also get a copy of that aanj file?? derekneil@accesswave.ca Quote
Guest AlexVDL Posted October 6, 2003 Report Posted October 6, 2003 No offence, but kurts drawings aren't accurate Sorry Kurt!!! Looks like he used a pic of a guitar off the ibanez site or whatsoever and just traced the contour lines etc. Some aren't fluently drawn either. But that's no problem, as long as you don't use them as templates for replacement parts for the exsisiting guitar. They are great if you're into building a RG/jem kinda copy. But hey, the drawings are more than efficient when using it for your own project, but keep in mind measuring the scale length and positioning of the bridge etc. STill a good job Kurt! Quote
krazyderek Posted October 6, 2003 Report Posted October 6, 2003 i noticed his designs weren't dead on either, but they're more then good enough if you want to copy a guitar design for something you're building yourself from scratch Quote
Guest AlexVDL Posted October 7, 2003 Report Posted October 7, 2003 That's what I meant it's a hell explaining something in another language Quote
Bingo328 Posted October 7, 2003 Report Posted October 7, 2003 What type of CAD tips are you wanting to know. I could probably help you out. Scott Quote
Guest AlexVDL Posted October 7, 2003 Report Posted October 7, 2003 Well, if you can tell me how to radius (fillet) an edge on a 3D guitarbody, than you're my hero Quote
tonebucket Posted October 7, 2003 Author Report Posted October 7, 2003 Alex & krazyderek The file I have is a JPEG of the ANJ, which I scanned and the dimensions on the scan are to scale (or near enough). I will send it shortly. The neck is BSB. Quote
Kurt76 Posted October 7, 2003 Report Posted October 7, 2003 Hi Alex!!! Thanks very much by your advice !!!! Yes, the designs that i make is not 100% perfect, just only a reference to the bodys, neck Joint and Headstock. For the perfect mesaures of Bridges, pick up etc... see Jemsite.com (in origins link). For the neck i think the best for plans is make with paper, pencil, rulers, eraser and patiencie Ji Ji!!! Ah! Do you can improve my designs for will be better? Thank very much!!! Bye to all!!!! pd: sorry my english Quote
Guest AlexVDL Posted October 7, 2003 Report Posted October 7, 2003 Sure I can Kurt.. I have the exact jem/reg body already drawn (from the original blueprint)... also the neck and headstock... The only thing I have to work on is the exact placement for the holes of the AANJ neck screws, but I will use the measurements of my Ibanez JPM The drawings will be ready soon. I will send them to Brian so he can put them up in the adveanced section. These drawings will be scaled 1:1 and accurate to the last milimetre But yours are very cool Kurt, keep up the good work! tonebucket Posted October 11, 2003 Author Report Posted October 11, 2003 Scott I would to know how to create 3D images and anything on how to create squiggly lines (similar to a radius) would be very helpful. Thanks Quote
Guest AlexVDL Posted October 11, 2003 Report Posted October 11, 2003 Try using autocad, inventor or other CAD programs, and walk thru all the tutorials which are included. It is very helpfull! Quote
