PaintIt Posted April 27, 2007 Report Posted April 27, 2007 Finally got around to finishing the frankenstein project. I need to paint the neck and headstock black as it looks out of place. Maybe a little lightning around a fender logo. I also need to find some black knobs to finish it off. Quote
badsnap Posted April 27, 2007 Report Posted April 27, 2007 That is absolutely awesome! I agree...black neck and headstock...maybe tuners as well (or green tuners!) Peace...Rog Quote
thirdstone Posted April 28, 2007 Report Posted April 28, 2007 great art work , I don't mind the headstock as it is...Congrats Quote

Painting a fender logo on a squire wouldn' t be very popular around here though... edit: forgot to mention though....awesome airbrushing skills. Edited April 28, 2007 by aidlook Quote

I would replicate the existing logo which includes the fender logo although small. I am not trying to fool anyone, this is just a portfolio piece for me to keep around. Thanks all for the compliments Quote
pmarlin Posted April 28, 2007 Report Posted April 28, 2007 Thats awesome. I have a couple of airbrushes, one of these days I will have to get around to using them. Quote

Wouldn't bother me !! since its been mentioned I was thinking , lose the squire logo and fit a fender one with out a serial number. To keep everyone happy keep the squire stamped neckplate. Quote

erikbojerik Posted April 29, 2007 Report Posted April 29, 2007 Cool paint job. You do know that you MUST replace those white plastic knobs with big metal bolt heads....right? Quote
PaintIt Posted April 29, 2007 Author Report Posted April 29, 2007 good ideas. I already got some black knobs that are the same as the white ones and it made a big difference. I just need to find some time to work on the neck. I like the idea of bolts for the knobs to go with the theme, maybe later on. Quote
Quarter Posted April 29, 2007 Report Posted April 29, 2007 Very nice job!! ... Bolt head knobs would be very cool. Cut the heads off some stainless bolts, grab some cobalt bits, and polish / wire brush as desired. Maybe some imperial styled tuner knobs would add to the frankie bolt look? Quote
Racer X Posted May 1, 2007 Report Posted May 1, 2007 Excellent job. I've been waiting to see the finished product. You are right, I think, though. Matching headstock. Normally, I like natural-looking strat headstocks, but THIS one calls for a match. Great work, mate! Quote
syxxstring Posted May 2, 2007 Report Posted May 2, 2007 Definitly a black headstock. Either your own logo or blank. Also die that fretboard black. Quote
DrummerDude Posted May 22, 2007 Report Posted May 22, 2007 Wow, the monster of Dr. Frankenstein. This is *SO* friggin' cool. Quote
biliousfrog Posted May 22, 2007 Report Posted May 22, 2007 bolt head knobs would be excellent & maybe also tuner buttons to match? Quote
IbanezFreak666 Posted May 22, 2007 Report Posted May 22, 2007 thats amazing, i love the idea of using bolts for the controls! but even without that it looks awsome! Quote
