Ben Posted July 11, 2007 Report Posted July 11, 2007 (edited) argh.. that could have looked pretty neat and tidy too if only he'd left the lowest string as a single... Edit: upon closer inspection, he should probably have replaced the nut instead of just adding extra slots too, and the path ot the sting to the tuner at the tip on the headstock veers a little too close to another post too Edited July 11, 2007 by Ben Quote
ihocky2 Posted July 11, 2007 Report Posted July 11, 2007 Don't you usually put the higher octave strings on the treble side? Or doesn't it really matter? Quote
zeppelinchld Posted July 11, 2007 Report Posted July 11, 2007 it reminds me of that cat in the hat guitar Quote
low end fuzz Posted July 11, 2007 Report Posted July 11, 2007 really, all he had to do was stick to 2 extra a side; 5 and 3 looks ugly even if the strings arnt wrapping around the underneath machine head Quote
Batfink Posted July 12, 2007 Report Posted July 12, 2007 Don't you usually put the higher octave strings on the treble side? Or doesn't it really matter? Yep, you should and yes it does - run for cover is my first reaction....."nasty chinese bass butchered by blind man" should have been his ebay description line. Jem Quote
WezV Posted July 13, 2007 Report Posted July 13, 2007 Don't you usually put the higher octave strings on the treble side? Or doesn't it really matter? Well its different on differnt 12 string guitars so i dont see why it cant be on a bass. Rickenbacker originally did it with the treble strings on the bass side although a lot of people string them the other way, its a subtley different sound: http://www.rickbeat.com/modelslibrary/360-...360-12-1963.htm That doesnt make the bass any less of a turd Quote
