I find that many builders go out of their way to photograph builds in unnaturally "clean" stages of progress, sweeping up shavings and tidying the workpiece up for pop-shots. I am a systems analyst, working in a university with research in the area of health and I own a sotwarehouse providing services to several companies here in my town. Working in the shop just two shifts a week, then not have much time to prepare or clean things to take pictures, turn out the way they are right now.
