LGM Guitars
Purfling lines the inside edge, Binding is the furthest outside strip, think of it as "binding" it all together
krazyderek
i'll go the route of the friendly critic, your center or joint line up the middle of the guitar looks a little messy, either that or the stain just affected the ends of the veneer/top? Jem7RB UK
i'll go the route of the friendly critic, your center or joint line up the middle of the guitar looks a little messy, either that or the stain just affected the ends of the veneer/top? i Know dude, I had to lift and relay it it was originally clamped for 4 days, but something went horribly wrong and it did'nt set (the glue) of course the glue being wet shrunk the veneer slightly hence the binding (thanks Jer) It my first veneer job gone wrong, typically on the only guitar i'm keeping I had thought of running some of the binding material down the center line, but it just looked "wrong" I'm hopefull, with a few more coats of laquer it'll dissapear a little bit. Thanks again for your comments Rob
Guest AlexVDL
How about an abalone line in the middle like the PRS santana?? BTW how did you do the binding at the armrest??? Particularly the routing of the binding channel
Jem7RB UK
Alex, the binding channel all round was cut with a knife, not ideal but my router went down, i adapted a sharp knife with a block to give me a uniform cut Rob
