VanKirk
I thought about auto tuning pegs before but not on a bridge. Pricey but a cool idea for the tone deaf or if you need fast alternate tunings on the fly. Auto tuning bridge

spirit
I've seen that before. Jimmy Page has one is some of his guitars. It is very cool, but very very expensive.
syxxstring
There have been several recent threads on this. In which i say to check out a band called Fourth Estate, I believe they were the first to record with this system or something.
Scott Rosenberger
Or you could get the Hipshot trillogy Bridge. Once it's set up all you have to do is flip a couple levers to switch tunings
eiseyrokker
Or you could get the Hipshot trillogy Bridge. Once it's set up all you have to do is flip a couple levers to switch tunings true, but how cool is it that you can tap tempo and have the bridge change the tuning in time with the song you're playing? I woudl defintely get one if they made liek a cool cover for it. Imagine the tele-style ashtray on it...that would be cool. Or maybe a good maple veneer. who knows? RAI6
Or you could just get a Roland VG system, and as you're switching tunings, it could also switch from sounding like a guitar, to sounding like a banjo.... And it won't cost you 4 grand.
asm
4 grand? some servo motors linked to a chromatic tuner and some preset button interface? doesnt seem to difficult of an idea to me, what are they figuring in that cost 4k?
lovekraft
4 grand? some servo motors linked to a chromatic tuner and some preset button interface? doesnt seem to difficult of an idea to me, what are they figuring in that cost 4k? Well, there's programming, production costs, ROI, insurance, Dom Perignon, chemical dependency rehab, Lear Jet payments ... but it's probably because they're the only game in town. Remember what PCs cost when IBM was the only manufacturer? Somebody needs to motorize a Trilogy - that would change things right quick.
