  1. Hey Everybody! I just had this idea a couple minutes ago, would it be possible to do a swirl using stains? Like one colour could be opaque and the other could be stain. Has anybody tried this, would the opaque colour just darken the stain? Any ideas?
  2. +1 That is exactly what I was thinking! If you go to far with a burst on that guitar, it might be a little overwhelming. I think a subtle burst would be perfect.
  3. Hey buddy! Good to see you on here. R&D, CEO?!?! Just kidding man. RGXDave and I build guitars together. Dude I'm not sure whether we qualify as CEO's yet...
  4. Yeah I tried something close to AlexVDL's diagram but with a regular nut because I didn't have a butterfly nut that fit, but I think I better get a butterfly nut.
  5. Hey everybody, sorry if this is a silly question. I was just wondering what the best way would be to remove these bridge ferrules for a badass bridge. Its been a long day so sorry if I'm not using the right terminology. Heres some pics. I want to take these out to refinish the guitar their in. Thanks everybody.
  6. I'd give the drummer a chance to get stuff together before you give him the boot. It sounds like this drummer must be good if you've been playing with him for this long, and you probably enjoy playing with him when he's on his game. Just tell him that the last 5-6 years have been good but if he's not into it anymore you'd be better off using your time playing with a drummer who IS into it. Which is true, if somebody's not into what their playing their wasting time. Just my two cents.
  7. GuitarEng: That looks really good! Thats a cool idea with the F hole. You might want to find other ways to mimic the grain aswell. Just because if I didn't read your post I wouldn't have understood the F hole. Of course thats just my opinion. Keep up the good work!
  8. I have never owned a schecter but whenever I play them at the store they feel really bulky. Some of them are way too heavy too. I've never played the C-7 so this one could be different, but generally i find schecters too bulky (only my opinion).
  9. Yeah this was an amazing month. Wow everybody! Everyone who entered give themselves a pat on the back because these are amazing! Also all the people who vote should give themselves a pat on the back for being able to decide! All these entrees were unique in their own ways. But in the end, I went with jammy just because you really don't see that kind of thing very often and you nailed it! It was close though! Great job guys!
  10. Yeah I'm gonna echo what a lot of people have already said and say, Do whichever one you want. But my favorite is the yamaha, personally I think it might be a little out there with a bigsby (just my opinion), maybe a floyd or something would be cool.
  11. I love this guitar already! Great design especially the inlay and the inlay on the bridge. I think the woods will look really cool together. Keep us posted.
  12. Yeah I've heard good things about Stetsbar. Theres a GuitarOne review on the Stetsbar site that's pretty convincing.
  13. I think there's a link in this thread: http://projectguitar.ibforums.com/index.ph...&hl=scandal
  14. The depths are on the higher resolution one I'm pretty sure. It says D=# in all of the cavities. It's in milimeters. Hope this helps.
  15. That's going to turn out great! Congrats on the inlay! Are you doing the same wave type thing that you did on that other guitar?
  16. Yeah it says "Professional Grade Wood Glue" and "Contractors Grade" it also says "for Interior Use". I almost got the stainable kind by accident which is water resistant. But I think I got the right one. Yeah I called Home Depot and they checked on the shelves and nothing.
  17. Thanks but I live in Halifax. I think the ProBond stuff will work fine. Thanks anyway!
  18. I ended up getting that ProBond stuff. But I also got a plunge router and a set of bits for 40 bucks! A guy was selling it used.
  19. Thanks! I'm going to call Busy Bee, and all the other stores. I don't have a car so it'll be a day on the bus but oh well! I might call Kent too, ya never know. Yeah I'll give that a try if I cant find it. I did a little research and apparently titebond is an aliphatic resin glue. So any other yellow aliphatic resin glue should be fine I guess.
  20. Thanks I'll try there. P.S. Nice to see another Nova Scotian on the forum!
  21. I am going to put a top on a body soon and I've heard that Titebond is the best stuff to use a far as glue goes. I can't find any where I live, I've tried Sears, Canadian Tire etc. and no luck. Could I use regular wood glue? Sorry If this is a stupid question. Thanks
  22. Yeah I have a Bill Lawrence in one of my guitars and I love it. A good pickup!
