I would think it'd make it sound dull too. If the inside is drying out maybe you could pick up a humidifier. They're pretty cheap. All you do is keep a few drops of water in the humidifier and put that in the soundhole.

A friend of mine has an Explorer acoustic. I thought it played better than the stratocoustic & telecoustics. Alot different shape but it's all I can think of

I haven't seen one. Have you called Fender to see if they're available? Have you played one? Just my opinion here but I thought they didn't sound very good so it seemed pretty gimmicky to me.

Are you able to route the neck pocket deeper and/or with more angle? That would make more sense to me than adding wood under the bridge. Good luck! Is this a bolt-on neck? I assumed it was when I originally posted

I found them amusing at first. It's like a look-alike Robert Plant singing like Freddie Mercury hit head on with a Jimmy Page look-alike playin like CC Deville in classic rock/ 80's rock band. The video to 'A thing called love' left a smile on my face and the big finish really got me to laugh. When he hits the chorus it's like someone just squeezed his balls, hahaha. ...but then, a guy at work bought the CD and has played it several times a day for the last couple of weeks and, like anything overplayed, I'm sick of it

I used to have a Bandit 112. Very cool little amp. I wish I had it now. Being a factory Kurzweil synth tech, I deffinately believe there is only 1 factory guy working on warranty stuff. There are only 3 of us working on warranty AND non-warranty repair for all home & Pro product lines and I would bet that Peavey is more reliable too. We're looking better now but there is usually an 8-12 week wait. 20+ units to diagnose, repair to component level and do the paperwork on at all times. I remember being pissed long ago that I'd be without my guitar for 2 weeks while the tech worked on it, LoL! My opinions have sure changed. It's common in the music industry so I wouldn't hold a grudge against Peavey for it. "want a unit real bad, you get a real bad unit". Takes time to make sure it's fixed right and stays that way.

Router to basic bevel shape then use a cabinet scraper to shape the rest of it. Rasp, file and again the scraper for the arm contour. Just an amateur hack's 2 cents

WoW, that started out sooo noisy, hehe. I must have had the mics too far away? I don't remember what I did differently when recording the two acoustic songs. I had a cheapo sound hole pic-up but I don't remember using it to record those with. ohwell was done with 2 SM57s at 90 degrees from each other. One pointed at the neck and the other at the bridge and I panned about 3/4 left and right on each channel. I'm hearing too much finger pickin noise again Think I need to change the angle of my pickin or somethin? and clip my damn nails. Sounds like I'm scratchin the strings instead of pluckin them. Recording let's me hear things that I don't really notice while playin.

Cool! Sounds like a little chorus and reverb? Gives it a fuller sound and more...dimension? Very cool. I should record that again a little cleaner this time and try a few effects. I can use the Kurzweil KSP-8 at work. That unit gives the most realistic reverb sounds I've ever heard. Thanks again

LoL, WooPs! Had these on my comp for awhile and yet I never got around to it. Not sure why now Haven't recorded much since then or did anything to clean these up. I still have the individual tracks and I'd like to rerecord them a little more seriously. It'd be really cool to put a bass line and drums to the blues jam. I have a cool beat I play on my dad's drum set and a bass line on my Fiance's bass. I should record them and make a real song outta it and a couple others I have. Hard to do now that I don't have the dedicated space to playin'. I have to keep all my stuff in cases and I've become fat and lazy since my woman treats me like a king so I need to start practicing more. I think the break from playin and just listening to other's stuff has helped get me out of a rut since I made these. Nice to have this PG forum to motivate me a little more. Especially since I don't play in a band and don't get feedback. No band = playing rut. Thanks for the links nyj. More playing/recording tips, plz

Be sure not to drill too deep. I've seen a few posts where people went right through the front of the headstock. I'm not 100% sure but I think the Stew-Mac jig only positions where the holes will be drilled not the depth. Is this true Scott? um...Mr. Rosenberger

I really like Bill Lawrence's stuff. They sound great and are inexpensive. Make sure you go directly to Bill's site if your interested 'cause there are some that claim to be his pups but are knock-offs. Customer service is really good too. Bill Lawrence Pickups The L280 & L290 have a very cool bluesy sound with low noise.

Here's some bad recordings I did a couple of years ago. I haven't been able to set up a good recording area for awhile so I haven't done much since. These are sloppy, poorly played & recorded 1 take mixdowns. I just decided to hit record while practicing. Very noisy acoustic. set volume low I liked the sound of the recording alot better on this one but there's too much scratchy finger pickin noise. I should have clipped my nails or somethin. Levels are real high so careful. Set volume & bass even lower This is a cheesy I, IV, V progression with an even cheesier minor pentatonic 'blues scale'. Too much 'chicka chicka' crap goin on and my fingers were stickin to the finger board at the beginning when I tried to slide. I think the solo is too low. Cheesy blues jam. Turn bass back up Didn't know when to end that one All these mixdowns are really poor. I'm sloppy and deffinately no shredder so forgive this amateur player and recording. I've added a couple more tricks and my vibrato is deeper and slower now but I need to practice MUCH more. Well, after I finish my project guitar Playin tips much appreciated

Now I went and made this project last even longer. I picked up a decent piece of flamed maple off e-bay, enough for 2 guitars. Which also means that I'll look into a stain & laquer finish instead of Tru-oil. I'll have to cut, plane and glue this piece up. Hopefully I won't hose this too bad but what the hell. At work when I'm fixing a circuit board it's me vs the damn board. After I put in alot of time & parts and the POS (I mean PCB ) still doesn't work then, occasionally, it gets snapped in half and I salvage what parts I can off of it to repair someting else. The sound of that board snapping in half gives me a sick kind of pleasure and makes all the headaches worthwhile. Makes me feel more confident to see that experienced builders make mistakes too and that all is not lost. Pics like this help me to accept that eventually I'll make a mistake and that it's not the end of the world. ...Not to mention that I'm not the only one who enjoys SMASHING inanimate objects that are bent on PISSING ME OFF!

Nice! Thanks alot. Even my somewhat dull scraper does a great job. I see what ya mean about having control and removing wood quickly. It should be even better with a good edge

2 Shure SM 57s angled 90 degrees. One pointed at the neck and one at the bridge when recording my acoustic sound great but you have to play with the distance to get the right amount of volume to noise level but I'm no proffessional Recording electric, I love the PODxt into M-Audio Quattro into Cakewalk Guitar Tracks pro. I find it's simple, cheap and good enough for what I record. Again, I'm no pro
