i shape em after its all fretted this way any compression caused by the frets wont screw up you neck shaping effort ooh dont forget any inlay before fretting.

zebrawood will be fine but prob wont sound as good as mahogany will or rosewood> zebrawood will look wild though

Load that wheel up with compound (dont forget to wear a mask) dont be afraid i sand it up to 8000 then start it comes out like a mirror at 1000 rpm

Thanks for the replies guys woodenspoke you are so right i too live in the NE and i keep mine at a constant 50% at all times it is very important if you live in a high humid area. anyone else have some numbers?

its a preference thingy they seem to work pretty well there (although i have put them closer to the bridge ) plus bending a string up in note is easy and fun when ya get them to close to the bridge ya have to watch that it doesn't hit it too(prob already know that though)

well ok ive tried em all hide glue (hot) titebond ® all of them Polyurethane glue the ones that did a rotten job are titebond ® hide glue>thumbs down, titebond 1,2,and3 worked good for me(NOTE!!) in my opinion if you leave a guitar(and if it were one of mine) in a 175 d car trunk i would not warranty it. Its just a stupid thing to do. .as for Polyurethane glue works for me and also works for Mr Terwilliger of Jet guitars so i think basically its a preference thing what you best like to use and what works for you. OK OK i saw the article on the titebond® VS hide glue OK lets be real yes it failed in a what 350D come on folks (dont get me wrong i use it) but what im saying is -some of the best guitar makers in the world use titebond® so are THEY wrong - no it works for them and i do respect everyones opinion here. just wanted to put my two cents in here guys Stol guitars

i use cnc for some things too as Ron said not for everything ,most is still done by hand its mostly for me #1 accuracy #2 repeatability

im in the process of building my own design with inlayed flames on a carved top>the flames will be made out of Brazilian rosewood,paduk,black limba, macassar ebony,flamed redwood,east and west tiger maple,the fretboard Brazilian rosewood ,back black limba,neck solid Brazilian rosewood,headstock plate 100 year old blacker than black(none blacker) ebony from cuttyhunk mass>(from a ebony barge that sunk there)the top is going to be flamed rambutan,all bound with ebony sounds crazy huh ill post the pics of the progress soon

both work great just take your time when doing it

is it i spiral head cutter? (i would use a thickness sander on high figure woods) just my opinion if its a regular blade cutter i would not use it on high>expensive figured woods

I prefer aniline stains they hold much better just my opinion
