  1. wow looks nice!! I mostly don't like fabric tops but this one really looks nice (must be the burst ) why is it so heavy?
  2. I'm not really thrilled by the neck but for a 100 bucks its good to learn i guess. beat up 80's kramers pass on ebay alot for low $! Its so stupid they don't make the old kramer shape anymore at a low price! I mean its just a body without pickguards and slightly differetn horn!! the charvel san dimas (1600 $) is has actually just a strat body without pickguard and only 1 humbucker (you could make it cheaper then a fender coz less cosmetics)) well at least your having fun right adios
  3. try this site: http://www.montyjay.com/kirkamps.html http://www.montyjay.com/jamesamps.html they have all of metallica's amps, pedals, preamps... http://www.montyjay.com/metgearmain.html kirk used a boss distortion pedal in the early days, james an ibanez tube sreamer
  4. well I love both lead and rythm! The best thing to improve your lead skill is to learn scales! The first time I heard of it I didn't knew how they worked, its very importend not to give up (like i did) about 2 months later I really started studieng them (not hard at all) and now i can see how scales work in solo's and even improvise! and tapping is also a cool thing to try at first its seems soo difficult, now i can play tapping from am I evil, eruption and one... If there is something just way too difficult i let it wait ,if there's something difficult I just try very hard and later you'll see youve progressed so the way too difficult things get easier and easier!!
  5. cool, how much is the engl screamer? 4 channels all tube... I normally was going to go to the store today but The weather is really bad so I'll go another time. thx for all the replies tough
  6. carvin does not supply in belgium nor does my store have 'em! I think it would be really hard to get them unless i ship them from the UK or something.. a friend of mine has laney but I don't want the same gear as him!
  7. everybody says tubes sound better and are more powerfull! I need a combo because I don,'t have enough room for a halfstack
  8. wow thats nice and certainly not the most easy song to play!! oh and welcome to the board
  9. I've also found out my regular store has got a used twin amp(its dutch and says "in good state") The deville does look allot better, and its made with tweed (might even be a bluess deville) so how is that compared to marshall?
  10. twin amps are famous , but only has clean so it wouldn't really sout my style! I hope i can try some amps this week!
  11. I think I'll rather lean towards something with tubes (preamp or all tube) or modelling like line 6, VOX valvetronix (if they sound good)
  12. Hi, I recently started playing in a band so i need to upgrade my amp a little bit! I know have an epiphone with a roland cube 30 wich is a very good practise amp but just hasn't got enough power! My band plays (hard) rock, but I'm also into bluess and metal (the techniques basicly go together ) My price range would be around 600-700€ (count € = $ won't differ that much) I searched a lot and was interested in: -Line 6 flextone III XL -Marshall AVT 150 -(Used) Fender hot rod deville 4x10 (for 600 €) what is the main advantage of tubes and would I be able to play metal like metallica ,zakk wylde stuff on the fender deville? (probably not but there might be a chance just dunno ) I was mostly interested in the fender because its an all tube with nice clean +drive and for such a low price! Hit me with info ppl!!
  13. you can get a decent wirless conecttion for 100-200 €! never heard it live tough! its nice to see him play the old kramers again i just love those guitars!
  14. ikke_998

    Value?

well you can get just about any les paul sound out of the epi ones you want! I heard the wiring of the epi's are not so good and my epiphone is in for repairing a few days ago because of such problem! but apart of that they are really great guitars, gibson is maybe a bit overrated! (have you seen the price? )
  15. i actually think the headstock is pretty cool
  16. My mood definatly affects my plaing! when I'm in an angry mood I mostly play the most heavy stuff I know!! and after that i just feel better!! when I'm in a good mood I play more soft stuff and my solo's semm to sound better... you get the point! Oh yeah and if its rainy I seem to suck more then when its sunny !!
  17. Wow thats a long time!! ago anywayz I once read it on one of there news pages that they contacted a company that was prepared to build bodies in fibreglass ...but your right! they didn't use fibreglass but tone chambered wood instead!! you can definatly see this here but I'm pretty shure they first intended to make them in fibreglass! the colors do look so good
  18. You saw Hendrix preform all along the watchtower!!!??? wich I was even born then! If you need something the crowd loves and is easy to play take AC/DC's TNT All along the watchtower is easier then it looks, its basicly 3 chords with an intro and 2 solo's in between! Metallica is also a crowdpleaser :Master of puppets, seek and destroy.... whatever you take rock on!!
  19. sad to hear wel if you take the wall of death would you make another one?? then why not keep the body and make one with a pickguard later... since i don't have the luxury of owning 2 guitars right now (im 16). a wall of death would be...cruel (you miht as well give it to somebody like me )
  20. cool stuff never saw it before!!! I once saw a movie of an 8 yr old kid playing eruption faster then EVH himself!!
  21. GReat stuff!! It plays and looks killer wich pickup did you use??
  22. I use D'addario standard , I cant really compair to other strings because I only play for 9 months anyways the lower strings can go for 2 months but i mostly change strings every 3-4 weeks because the sound of the strings gets a bit...euh...well not as good as a new pair a strings My strings used to break every 2 weeks but now I string them like zakk wylde (i have a les paul) Is there actually a difference in sound or only in playability??
  23. OMG I have litterly got about 15 MB's on my machine of pictures with cool guitars and guitars I never wanna forget... (I once downloaded 8 pictures of jimi hendrix's painted flyign V so i could ruin one in the exact same way later!!) or everything from an "urban camo esp explorer" to a "copperhead snakeskin jackson sl2" or a 10000$ ebay warlock wich is just too good to be true or close ups from a "man to wolf inlay" on hetfield's explorer... I could go on for another 20 minutes about more then 80 pictures!! oh and I draw guitars in school a lot (mostly flying V's for no ptclr. reason)
  24. ok i found a cool guitar at ed roman's site ever wonderd how a carrieburst on a les paul would look...? click HERE!!
  25. been spending to much time on going back to school and im missing somthing already! The red turned out very nice (much btter then I would think at first) especially because it contrasts nice with the binding! dieing to see more progress!
