  1. Well that just cracked me up. followed by You're not going to understand the 'whole music' through tab! That's the thing that constantly drives me nuts, people want to become great players but not great musicians, ie the drive to seek out tab instead of charts is a clear signal the commitment to becoming a great musician isn't even there.
  2. Shush!!!!!!, I've been trying to get to NY for two years before that happens...shhhh!
  3. It hasn't for a very very very long time.
  4. Ehh, gimmicks are gimmicks, people have to do some pretty strange stuff in an era where we're already numb to everything as it is. Green Day wasn't a pop band and they sold da soul so hard the pitchfork's still wedged somewhere in the nether regions. Really sad part is they opened for me years ago and the sucked! Then they went and got all rich and famous and crap, now their just suckin in the money. Brutal prostitution!
  5. So you want to be Green Day!
  6. A zero fret is also another way of saying the nut in educational materials, often referring to 0 fret as open string.
  7. My first thoughts are how the word Virtuoso applies here. Most often the original Italian meaning "skilled, of great worth" puts so many names into the same grouping it seems almost inadequate to use for comparing anyone as there are so many skilled players in today’s world? An example, an intermediate player on todays standards would have been considered far more of a virtuoso in the 50's than they are now. So is it relative?
  8. Yep, I was only referring to the naming convention of MM_ That was the hint to what editor generated the javascript not that the javascript is proprietary to anyone, just the naming convention used was a hint to where it came from.
  9. Well it certainly sounds to me like you know what you're after (and appropriately so) and I will now shut my pie hole!
  10. Don't get me wrong Dreamweaver is a better tool than many, especially Frontpage but honestly what will provide you the most is to really learn HTML. At least Dreamweaver is pretty honest on the html it produces but you'll find when having to compensate for all flavors of browsers, platforms and versions, none of them do a fully correct job. I use an overgrown text editor called EditPlus from editplus.com. It's shareware and WELL worth the price. I use it for every programming language I use (many..way..many). It's only an editor with syntax highlighting but does do some html base operations for you.
  11. After looking at the html source it looks like it was either done in Macromedia Dreamweaver (most likely) or Microsoft FrontPage (possible but I don't think so). I believe it's Dreamweaver more so than FrontPage is because though the in page javascript uses the same function naming convention (everything begins with MM_) but there's no editor tag which FrontPage always plugs in. In anycase, it's a simple layout, all someone really needs is notepad if they know what they're doing.
  12. That should be a configuration in the Admin panel, 10's usually just the default. That's what i'd be thinking, too... Having adminstrated a forums, most stuff like this is moddable in the config panel!! EDIT: Yep, I've just checked... In the Admin panel, go to General Admin --> Configuration and it's under "User and Forum Basic Settings" (Max number of poll options) I thought so!
  13. That should be a configuration in the Admin panel, 10's usually just the default.
  14. Ditto. There are plenty of unpaid internships here in the States, many of which are government run. It's true, I get intern's every summer who after they've left I have to clean up their mess.
  15. Think it's all relative to cost, I'd say they're okay little guys for the money. I have a Ballideer (sp?) I adore but realistically it is not x10 a better guitar than what you've described (thou it's 10x the cost).
  16. Charvel got bought by Fender. People say quality may have suffered. As well as Jackson, Guild, Rodriguez, Benedetto, list goes on for days!
  17. Here's a slightly better view but still not good, gives a better view of the body. http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e219/darkside7/BAT2.jpg Dude makes some pretty sick cars too!
  18. Have you checked with GuitarFrenzy? Not sure if he's still doing blanks or not, but he was?
  19. I would agree with that, but the GuitarPort has bass sounds in it as well. I wouldn't say the TonePort is more *advanced* just more I/O options, it acts more as a mini-mixer than the GuitarPort does. Otherwise, if you pop open the box, bet ya dollars to dognuts, the D/A converters and main board are basically the same. In anycase, I think both are a big step in the evolution of CPU+Guitar interfacing.

  21. I happen to like my MIM trash, thank you very much. Sorry dude. My GK Ready (standard MIM strat) is just a hump. I worked on it and did the best I could for it. I have a New York Pro strat I eBayed for $52 new that blows doors off it. Like the avatar BTW.
  22. I put in a .047 cap and switched one of my gibson pots to a 500k because i broke a piece off of the original. I am pretty sure gibson had 500K pots for the volume and tone before hand anyways. I might change the tone pot as well, just in case, since there are no markings on it. It's very possible that's the difference you're hearing. Even a pot change *can* change the sound, not all pots sweep range are exactly the same and some have minor resistance differences wide open. Between that and the cap is probably what you're hearing.
