  1. there could definitely be compatability issues between body/necks from different companies, and even between hardware.. the best thing to do is just double check all measurements... you don't want to end up with a neck and body that barely fit, or a bridge with a different string spacing then your pickups. your project sounds incredibly ambitious, but will be absolutely amazing when you're all done!
  2. Pollock's technique was called dip a stick in paint and drop it (or throw it.. hehe) onto a canvas. He's a cool guy... very sad life story though.
  3. very thouroughly planned, that's for sure. I wish you the best of luck!
  4. I'd be willing to donate my time in compiling a big all-encompassing FAQ... Brian or Kevan feel free to PM me if this sounds interesting. Thanks so much for all your work on the forum, things are great here and can only get greater.
  5. i have NO idea what you are trying to draw there i use schaller straplocks. why? because the guitar falls if i don't. simple enough hehe.
  6. what about allparts.com? i haven't actually gone and checked sheet sizes etc.. but that is an option
  7. i type in proj... and select the forumenter website
  8. good work! You could throw the link the DIY router table that I posted in this section up if you'd like.
  9. i would suggest just saving up a bit more and getting a bigger bandsaw, rather than risking "rebuilds" etc. of a smaller one... not doubting your skills at all, I'd just hate to see someone lose a limb to save $100.
  10. no,action IS string height basically wes ya beat me to it... hehe
  11. thanks for talking me out of it! hehe.. seriously.. the last thing i need to be doing is wasting money on useless tools...
  12. yep, makes sense! thanks for the response... it was more a case of "wow, something is on sale!, should i get it?" if it is advertised as a "polisher/buffer" i'm thinking there isn't really a way for me to mount a sanding base on it... schbah!
  13. hmm.. yeah.. this polisher is just on sale from $69.99 down to $19.99, so I thought I'd pick it up. What type of issues? Uneven polishing? it wouldn't damage the finish at all, would it? what about using it for already-finished factory guitars? is this thing even worth getting? hehe so many questions.
  14. i think it comes down to playing style.. if you need to play "pad horsie" all day, get a floyd. if you only ever need subtle touches, or even just want the "refined" look that comes with a bigsby, go bigsby. I like bigsby's because I think they look great.. I've got one on a 335 and it is just so cool looking.. although i'm sure some will disagree! i think they look fantastic on SGs and smaller guitars too, but the arm is just in the way. all that said and done, give me a hardtail TOM any day of the week.
  15. i always get dinked for duty... i must be flagged in the system or something LOL
  16. dunno if they could sew you, but they sure could knit you!
  17. i'm thinking of buying a random orbit polisher/buffer... would this be useful in shinin' things up?
