    Oh, the pickup thing........ Like, I was wondering why on the sg's with p90s they don't slam it right next to the fingerboard. It's cause the bevels from the horns are there, so on 24 frets you can put it next to the fingerboard. You won't get that "Sweet Spot" Or whatever, but it'll look better. I will call up stewmac, I've only heard good thing about their CS.

    I like the second one if you made the horn smaller and less sharp. It doesn't matter how thick your mahogany is, it's based on personal preferance. If you want it richer and warmer, go with more mahogany. Why mahogany and alder??

    I'm going to get a pre slotted ebony board, and am going to be installing block inlays. I was wondering do you guys like non-radiused fretboards, or radiused?? Stewmac's only has 24 frets, I kinda like 22. What are the pros cons of having 24. BTW I'm making an sg with 2 p90s. I guess the 24 frets would solve my pickup placing problem, but I am a little leery. Oh yeah, I'm gonna be binding it, and is it too hard to taper them to the correct gibson width?? Can I just get stewmac to do that themselves?? Does stew have 22 fret, boards on special demand?? Thanks

    I just thought that would be pretty cool. I'm doing a white sg, and was thinking of doing maybe a white to black burst, or just white. If anybody has any pics of this being done it would be nice.

    He said he had it roughed. You can clearly see his pencil marks too. 16" radius, is that the norm?? What does fender use??

    Yeah, now that matt mentioned it, I don't like the bevel outline on the lower horn. Just doesn't flow. You should do one on the other horn too. If you're not doing a solid color, i'd go veneer.

    It's made out of alder. It won't sound like a lp. Just order yourself some mahogany and try it for yourself. I think that was for a bolt on neck too.

    I like the headstock design at the top of the page. Looks kidna like a fishing knife or something. I've seen your work and it's pretty good, that quilted purple heart you had is awesome looking.

    Okay, but when you glue the body wings, isn't there like a thickness difference in the neck/body and the wings?? You have to plane down then I guess that's what you were talking about?? I realize 2 1/2 degrees isn't much, but it is still something I'm worried about...

    Oh thanks, cause that's the part I'm worried about. The angle doesn't have to be exact then, I guess?? Just 2-2.5. Sounds good. How thick is it, and did you lose much thickness when you planed it to get it flat after you glued the wings???

    God dude, if you have an axe for a headstock, you're trying way too hard. What will be really cool is if you dye your whoe guitar black (a crappy dye job) have cool skulls, or HATE, SUICIDE, etc. inlays. Then you can finish it off with a bunch of anarchy symbols covering the guitar. Then all you need is a song about an ancient warrior, battle, event, and a 20 minute guitar solo. You'll make Spinal Tap look like child's play. It'l be wicked, and evil.
