  1. I know what most of these bands are like... My school is littered with them... and they all play master of puppets that badly! The singer shouldn't sing lol... I sing and play and while I don't have that great of a voice I at least (2 essential things) sing on the note and with the right rythm...... Anyways, as I said there's so many of guys at least as good as that out ther
  2. well it's in fact basswood on lots of models (not very solid), but it's completely reinforced with carbon and stuff...
  3. yeah, but that kinda gets a bit costy considering i'd take lots of options and shipping to canada Anyone tryed schecter 007 ?
  4. Meh... Well, I'm 15 and I'm not exactly impressed... and the singer is REALLY bad lolll!! If at least he sang on the note... Anyways, i'd like to hear another song they do... Master of puppets is kinda... bad... bah... at least they do have a band (wich I still don't so hard to find a bassist around here) But I'm starting to work on a Pink Floyd tribute band
  5. Gotta say I went for the tele! That finish is amasing!!! Hitone classic was really a close 2nd though!!
  6. i'd go with option 1 for simplicity's sake... actually DOING part 3 would kinda be a lot of work
  7. Well, I still say that with my 25" guitar with 0.11 strings I get really low action (just over 1/16 from top of fret to bottom of string)) without fret buzz and that with 9s i got a lot at the same height...
  8. Bah, I wasen't thinking about THAT cheap... just pricey enough to be decent
  9. now that is REALLY bad. And I tought I had seen everything that's ugly! Almost beats that JS telecaster
  10. Well, gotta say parker wins it for me (I never tryed a carvin btw (my guitar is with one of their necks though)) Tryed a fly mojo at my local store... If I had that money, i'd buy one right away! And they're my favorite guitar shape as well (unconfortable a bit for my playing position... good enough, it would put it back to where it should be ) I'm sorry, but compare a gibson to a fly... same price... less than 1/2 the weight of the gibson and at least twice the features (including a piezo and a neck completely covered of carbon composite (the back of the body too... it's essencially a set-neck that the outer layer does the whole guitar) Anyways... Fender and Gibson (and ibanez) are VERY overpriced for the quality they exibit... a 2000$ guitar with a sub-par fretjob?? whatever... Anyone knows about Schecter's quality?
  11. ? I tought scale DID have something to do with action? Longer scale = More tension More tension = Lower action? at least it seems to work for me... with 11s i can put my action lower than with 9s
  12. Well, i'm happy of living here in Canada. It does have a good pont though. More original music will have to be written without tabs Anyways, I hope Mysongbook won't be shut down... They do have a disclaimer saying that it's for entertainement/learning purpose and such.
  13. Just found a nice guitar with pretty much the same pickups... And I gotta say that if I made a 12 stringer it'd be with those!! http://www.schecterguitars.com/spec.asp?id=56
  14. I like them all! ESPECIALLY the Iron Flame... Really nice ideas and nice workmanship !!!
  15. It really depends on where you get your black... Because black often is very dark blue/purple (but not always) You're really better off with a very dark brown.
  16. I'm thinking I should be building one too... It would be quite useful for shows to have a 212 cab but I think a 212 costs way too much compared to a 412... Just a question... Could I use a premade cabinet from some place I know that's for subwoofers? Some car stereo boxes. They should have it in 212 and I think it would be easy to modify to get something good enough... (i'd get a/make it open back though...)
  17. Hey, i'm looking for a nice 7 string guitar someday soon... What would you recommend? and what scale length? I'd like to have an extended scale, but I still wanna be able to tune it normally... is there such a thing as like... 26"? lolll Anyways, thanks!
  18. and I tought there couldn't be anything worse than children of bodom.....
  19. doesn't the powerbridge come with ground soldered alredy? My Schaller piezo bridge did... It actually came with a 1/8" jack (wich i found to be quite weird...) because it looks like a non grounded bridge to me...
  20. Alright... My guitar's humbucker does a LOT of hum when i'm anywhere near my computer screen... That's somewhat normal for high gain... what isen't is that the 2 single coils do not at ALL! So what i'm wondering is if it could be a broken switch or pot ? The switching is 4 mini switches... 1 on/off for each pickups and a switch for the hum for single/parallel/series As I said, only the HB does hum. I also found that even when every pickups are closed I can still hear sound (though very little) wich I believe comes from the HB. So could a broken/unsoldered switch be the problem?
  21. you probably need some imperial size bit... Else you might want to go in a woodworking store... you might find what you're looking for in there.
  22. go with a thinline telecaster... something really nice and unique. I dunno... maybe with a p90 in the neck or something! Else, you need to do a double cut with that.
  23. well, has anyone tought of bartolinis? They do break the bank, but I think they have some active models that would totally do the job!
  24. yea... I find the .71mm pick i have just now heavy :S daveq: I have a trem guitar (floyd) and I usually play with my pinky on the body, but sometimes I put my hand on the trem, and I don't detune it... I mean... As long as you don't PRESS on it, there's no reason for it to
