  1. Just don't worry yourself to death about it. You'll do fine. Eric Clapton still throws up before he goes on stage. You are going to mess up. It's innevitable. When you mess up just keep playing. If you play a wrong note, play it again like you meant to play it in the first place. The audience isn't gonna care.
  2. How much would you be willing to sell the explorer for rather than a trade?
  3. Personally i hate the curved body. i would deffinitly leave it the way it is. And as far as the union jack i have always really liked that design so i say go for it.
  4. I vote classic SG cherry. it would be dishonorable to do it in any other color.
  5. Nevermind. post pics of the real deal when you get the chance. i want to see this one.

    Fender 57

I actually bought it used from the original owner for $600 about 5 years ago. He said he paid about $1300 for it new. And it has held its condition amazingly well and it still plays like a dream. I just adjusted the action and the intonation yesterday seeing as it hasn't been out of the case in about 6 months and now it plays better than it ever has before. Thanks for the quick responses. Any other help would be great.
  7. Yeah I agree. I would go for a maple neck with a rosewood fingerboard but thats just me. You may want a really heavy sound and guitar for that matter.

    Fender 57

I was hoping that some of you guys on here might be able to help me. I'm trying to find out how much my bass is worth. I looked for an appraisal site on the internet but the ones I found all cost money. I have a Fender 57 re-issue precision bass and everything is completely original. The bass is in pretty much brand new condition except for a few barely noticible scratches on the back from a belt buckle and one chip in the paint where the neck meets the body. The stamp on the heel of the neck says it was made in 88. I just bought a new Fender American deluxe jazz bass v with a quilt maple top and I don't really need the precision anymore. So I'm trying to figure out if it's worth it to sell it now or if I wait a couple more years will the value rise enough of an amount to hold onto it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  9. You have some good gear suggestions on here and I wouldn't tell you anything different from what's already been posted but I do have one question. Are you honestly interested in bass or is your band basically forcing you to go that route? If you want to play bass that's great, bass is awsome, but if what you really want to do is play guitar, you're only going to be unhappy.
  10. I didn't like the body shape at all until I saw the picture with the carve and now I think I'm falling in love with this design. Sick quilt by the way. If they were mine I wouldn't take dye anywhere near these ones but to each his own. Good luck with the rest of the project.
  11. Very interesting. The thing that really caught my eye is the neck joint. How is the comfort with that heel?
  12. Thanks for the very helpful answers. I had looked in the manual before but it wasn't a lot of help but just reading your answers has probably helped me to figure out the problem.
  13. I just installed pro tracks plus onto my computer to use with my Digitech GNX4. The problem I'm having is that it is recording the guitar without the effects. So when im actually laying down a track im hearing the distortion and the chorus and so on and so on but when i finish recording and i go back to listen to the track the effects are not there. I'm hoping some of you computer geniuses can help me out. Any help is greatly appreciated.
  14. I started on viola, which I played for about a year and then I started playing violin, cello, and upright bass as well. Playing upright took me to electric bass which in turn brought me to guitar. Right now I'm in school for classical guitar and piano. I have recently started getting some little drum lessons from the drummer in my band. And I also play the harmonica. You can never have too many options.
  15. I have a friend who has used warmoth and he liked their products. I don't have a bass with a tremolo on it but I have played with one before and I personally think they are pretty cool. I still probably wouldn't buy one though.
  16. I would purchase a copy as well.
  17. I own a GNX4 and I am telling you that it blows the v-amp out of the water. A friend of mine has a GNX3 which is also a great peice of equipment but the GNX4 just has so much more that in my opinion it's the best multi-effects pedal on the market.
  18. Fender also makes a seatbelt strap. It's by far the best strap I own. I can't see it breaking anytime in the near future. If I did swing my guitar around on stage it's the strap I would use.
  19. I agree that is is a great way to learn but I think for all the money that your going to be putting into it it's still gonna be a p.o.s. squier. In my opinion its not worth it. I would say either buy a guitar that your happy with or build one from scratch, but I understand that a lot of people don't have the resources to build a guitar from scratch. So my answer is to do whatever makes you happy and if you wanna try and turn a squier into a nice guitar than by all means go ahead, if you can pull it off you will be the first to do so from what I've seen.
  20. I think this is a great idea. I would also love to see some more pics of at all possible.
  21. Alright. It makes perfect sense now. Thanks for clearing that up.
  22. You better not wear a big belt buckle when you're playing this one.
  23. This might be a dumb question but is the paint transparent? If it isn't then why did you go with a flame maple top?
  24. You can't go wrong with the classic look of a fender jazz bass. And i think those woods would look amazing on a jazz bass.
