Also - sick neck! How was the carbon to work with in neck shaping? I can’t even imagine.

B and D will give you the best chance at really clean lines. As another option, consider nothing.

As a brewer and graphic designer, I know how people like to name things, have logos, etc. Many times though it seems forced. I rarely name my beers anymore, the are just “Belgian number 8”. That said, I completely understand the pull. Drawing metal band logos and guitar company names was what led me into graphic design.

Oh no no. Thats a picture I grabbed to show the jig. Most of my work is done on a trusty Workmate that has seen hell and back. I wouldn't trade it for anything.

Little curved rail jig would do the truss slot with a small router.

Every time I see the back of Frankie, I think how much i would hate to have those reflectors on the back of my guitar grinding into my hip bone.

Thanks! I don't know what I wrote in that thread, but for the acid process: You need one large container with the muratic acid in the bottom. Then another container with the hardware in it, floating on that. Then seal it. I;m not sure how long I left them in, but it wasn't crazy long, and you need to check on it. You can always do more. I'd do some Googling and see what others have done.

Look at what I did to this hardware for a relicy build. Should have an organic vapor mask, rubber gloves, etc. Take great care.

I’m open to near anything. I’ve considered the Babicz before, and then there’s the simple Hipshot which are great. I don’t want to overthink it, but wouldn’t mind trying something new.

Well, I'm already going to use woods that have scientifically measured tap tone, hand-harvested and air-dried in anechoic chambers.
I tune my guitars to 432Hz - the tuning of the gods that makes hair grow, planets align and kills a rhino at 100 yards.
I'm using strings spun from Krell metal, mined from asteroids.

So the only thing left is the bridge.

I would think a ground is a ground no matter where, but electronics are not my best area.

String through the body always seems to be more resonant as it seems to connect the string to the body more directly. But I may just be making that up in my head.

This build is sooooo clean! Can't wait to see the dye.

Great tip in the thumb planes. I’m going to go review mine and see what needs done! Funny thing about those, I kinda got them on a whim thinking “I’ll see what I can do with these. Fancy myself a violin maker” And who knew they are one of my favorite tools now.

Fav: 1) scraper  2) bandsaw  3) router  4) table saw  5) thumb planes

Pros? Cons? I've read much, but interested in personal experiences. I don't have to use one, but I'd like to eek out every last bit of performance from my next hard tail build.

It's required and must live. Resurrecting builds or redoing old ones like @westhemann just did is so fulfilling. 

@Drak I remember your cocobolo V, that is a killer guitar.
UFO was not one of my main bands, I didn't discover them til later via a drummer I played with. After that, I pestered my band forever to play Love to Love. They always wanted to play covers of hits, I wanted to play deeper cuts that I knew would sound kickass.

Thanks Ash! I will say I've been playing that one quite a bit. The pickups on it are really something.

If I had to pick only one band out of them all, I very well might pick Queen.
And as much as May influenced my interest in guitar building, and as much as he gave us such spectacular melody and texture with his guitar - it's Mercury that I think of when I think Queen. The ultimate front man. I'll dedicate this build to Freddie Mercury!
