  1. no no neck angle is necessary for the wilkinson, the reason you need a neck angle for the TOM is because of its height, you could always rout a channel for the bridge then you wouldn't need a neck angle. If you end up using a non-sunken TOM use the search function to find how to calculate a neck angle.
  2. So does this: I rather liked the lines of the new Parker Mojo singlecut, so with this in mind I drew up a template for the mahogany blank.
  3. Some people get it cheaper and can sell it cheaper for one reason. Another would be that some is better quality for example i have 2 ibanez one is a 7 string the other a 6 string, the 6 is very high end and the 7 is low end and the 6 is much heavier because the wood is more dense. Some times the age of the wood is a factor, some times the way it was dried is.
  4. how many positions equals how many possibilities, as in if you only use 3 positions any way you only need a 3 way switch.
  5. I dont have an aswer for you but, are you sure? I think some one on here figured it that the neck through itself if made entirely of ebony would weigh about 18 pounds. That's with no wings. Hope you have a strong back.
  6. get a momentary on off switch from radio shack, unsolder the hot going to the jack and solder it to one lug on the switch, now solder a wire from that same lug to the hot lug on the jcak, now take the other lug on the kill switch and solder a wire from that to the ground lug on the jack. that should be it, I put a kill swith in my RG 7420 not that long ago and I love it.
  7. I didn't know they made floyd rose original 7 string bridges. Where do you get them?
  8. at first I thought you were just being a smart ass, then I looked at the date of post. Talk about back from the dead.
  9. Yes, thats how scarf joints are used elsewhere. There shouldn't be and issues stregnth wise.
  10. If it's an old RG neck with the big overhang I think it'll work fine, otherwise it won't intonate
  11. It looks a lot like deamike's bat. I think that's who built it. It's okay, could use some work in my opinion.
  12. I think I saw something once were somebody had the petrucci ibanez model and it was a flamed top and the picasso was stained instead of painted, you could do something like tht, keep with your figured woods but at the same time have a cool design.
  13. Well, if it was fender it wouldn't be ply.
  14. I think the lower body it a harmony, one of their newer designs.
  15. often frets are over-bent so that the fret ends get in the slot first. It depends on the radius you want. So what ever radius you chose you can go with.
  16. the bit size really just depends on how big the hole should be. Obviously you don't use a 1/2 inch bit for a 1/4 inch channel. I think the harder the wood the higher the speed but, I'm no expert.
  17. Shhhhh, it's sensitive. It really reminds me of a womans dress, with one strap falling down, now that you mentioned it looking like a woman.
  18. So If I'm spraying in my drive way or something I should have the compressor in my garage? How far away should it be?
  19. I was curious if one could paint with the compressor still running, it seems like it wouldn't hurt anything and it would be a good way to avoid running out of air. I am not very knowledgable about compressors so I don't know if it would put unnecessary strain on it or what. Thanks to any one who knows.
