  1. from the image of the back, you can see 4 preamp tubes and 2 el34 power tubes, so it's a 50 watt.
  2. my fave would be my just recently accquired squire supersonic, truly amazing, just saw it in my guitar shop and knew instantly what it was and how good it was, had a blast and I wanted it, and got it. It's truely one of those finds, amazing quality, playablity, sound and looks, ohh and a lovely blue sparkle finish. The great thing about it is the price, £225, now this is a little more than they would have cost new, but it is soo worth it, I compared it to an american strat, and they played pretty much the same, the only difference was the super sonics 24" scale length and the humbuckers. This really came along at a great time, wanted a new guitar, but all the ones i would have settled for would have cost me alot more, so I found my great gutar, and I love it...but it still don't stop me from wanting more.... not my acctual one, but exactly the same.
  3. wow, thats pretty damn good! the word is being spread. Do you know if it will appear in any UK guitar mags
  4. from what I have heard, fenders have a date in the neck pocket.
  5. that guitar they have that bridge on looks like a 1954 les paul, Hope they put it all back to orginal
  6. pictures here for all. http://photobucket.com/albums/v95/Robertchurches/ if I have violated any picture rules, please tell me. Sorry for the rubbish pictures.
  7. If you want tube, you can score very sweet deals on peavey alpha tube bass heads, its got 160 watts output by using 6 6L6GC tubes, but I bet if you changed those tubes to 6550's or the equivilant, you could get ALOT more output out of it. But it might need a new output tranny, or it might just need somthing as simple as a rebias. They have been described as being a lot like the mesa boogie 400 bass heads, with less wattage, so you can get a bit of more grind and thump outta it at more manageable volumes not saying it anit loud, because it is. As for prices, I have been offered one for £160 and when reading up on it, I noticed that many of the reviewers payed less than $300 for it. It seems like a worth while buy to me. PS if you are looking for super clean, pristien bass sounds, I wouldn't look at this, but it sounds killer any way, and you can get a really nice sound out of it.
  8. That is very cool! I love the look of it, very nice. just one thing, the g string looks abit wonky? I sure hope that it doesn't affect the playablity.

    Tubes

I just got home from playing a gig with my sounds city 50 amp. It totaly blew away the other amp there, which was a solid state marshall mg 100dfx. It was louder, and it didn't have the annoying "wall of noise" sound to it, it just cut through and you could still hear all the notes blaring out. I think its deffenatly worth it, even when I am playing at home with the vol on 0.5, to me, it sounds way better than any solid state amp. The maintence is as hard as you make it IMO, if you keep the amp biased and change the power tubes every year or 2, you won't mind it. as for them being heavy, I don't think that they are that heavy. I mean a solid state amp of the same size, is gonna feel roughly the same, and so what if it weighs more, at the most I would expect about 100 meters to the car, and maybe 1 or 2 flights of stairs, surely you can handle that! to me, any tube amp = better than no tube amp!
  10. hmmmm I can't see many people doing massive dive bombs on that. it looks very much like the same as the old SG trems, when they were first realesed as les pauls, which moved from side to side rather than up and down. I suspect that it would act a bit like a sidewards acting bigsby, not much range and more of just a bit of a flutter. EDIT: ignor that! I should have read the FAQ on their page first
  11. I used a cut off of a bike handle bar, filed it smooth then sanded and buffed it, free and easy
  12. whoa guys, hes just trying to spread the info he has, I checked out the links and they are good! Thanks hello2day!
  13. hmmm IMO I always though bigsbys looked ugly and impractical, I really can't imagin rocking out on a guitar witha bigsby on.
  14. whats the model, rack mount? is it a BBE one? pics? EDIT ahh theres the pic
  15. Hi there, trying to sell my trace elliot ah130 series 6 bass amp head with matching 2x10 cab, head comes with cover and includes speaker lead and a power lead, cab has a few scufs on it, as it has been gigged alittle. UK only, buyer pays all postage charges. I am loacted on the Isle of wight, I don't think it will cause any extra on the postage, but just so you know. I will send pictures or post then up if there is any interest in this. Any questions, please send me a PM, Thanks Rob P.S. reason for selling: I simply don't need it any more.

  17. simply out standing, nice design, beautiful workman ship going down there
  18. argh, why can't they just give a reason and leave!?
  19. man thats pretty cool! If you like the playablity of it, new pick ups are probably a good way to go. What kind of sounds are you aiming for?
  20. that is bad ass, I would love a rick!
  21. I Don't have any experience with the speed loader, but dependant on your truss rod choice, you will need a "mini" head stock to house the adjuster. I think it would look pretty cool like that.
