  1. also, the body isn't wood. It's called 'luthite'. These basses are made using the same material.
  2. the guitar's cool and all.....but derek......did you just spell crazy with a 'c'?
  3. As is, I like the first one. But I think the second one could be cool if it was kinda......offset. As for a headstock shape. I think that the second body design could be a cool headstock shape in itself, if the 2 horns were a little less pronounced.
  4. How did you make the tilty.....mechanism.....machinery.........work? Looks pretty cool..
  5. [picks up jaw off the floor] Wow! That thing is DEFINATELY GOTM material!!!!
  6. wow.....that thing looks so...........unplayable.....lol
  7. ....that guitar is just plain cool.....period.

  9. That sucks.....I think........ Hope the new jobs works out for ya!
  10. So i just put a new set of strings on my acoustic since god knows when. and WOW! It's amazing how much difference new strings make eh? I forgot how fun it is to play layla unplugged and tears in heaven...Go pickup your acoustic and play it......NOW! Meh, my pointless post of the day, Aaron P.S. Did you know you get 3 players points for d'addario acoustic strings and only 2 for electrics? Sucks eh? edit: what the hell, i hate it when i mess up the size and colour things
  11. why does this name sound familiar?don't tell me snork's real name is not sam..... tell me he didn't steal a ninja's name sam fisher is the name of a guy in some video game....i forget which one. It could just be a coincidence though...
  12. Here are the cheapest bigsbys I've found. Although they aren't exactly the same as the on pictured (a B5?), depending on the guitar you're building, it could work. And I'd use a bridge like this one. EDIT: Also, you mentioned Long & Mcquade, where in canada are you? Jus' wonderin...
  13. Scroll down to the last article on this page. If that is where you have the crack, then yes, it is common.
  14. hmmm.....more korina I guess.....But that could get pretty pricey, especially since you're going to need a pretty big piece for the body.
  15. Isn't mahogany really heavy stuff? Looks awesome though...
  16. Um, no . I find the 6 string sweep more difficult. AHHHH! man, I want my 3 string sweeps back!!!! EDIT: Oh, and nyjbkim, do you split 6 string sweeps up into 2 - 3 string ones or do you do the finger rolly thing?.......if that makes sense....
  17. wow.....this is weird, does anybody find 6 string sweeps easier than 3 string sweeps?
  18. really? My understanding was.... Floating - Trem is not screwed onto the body, but is resting (floating) on 2 posts, stabilized by springs and the strings. Non-floating - Trem is screwed into the body. Is stabilized by screws, springs and strings.
