  1. That is amazing man. I hope I will be as cool as you when i have kids. Get a picture of him shredding on that thing!
  2. Yeah they deffinetly look like regular right hand tuners put on a reverse headstock. Looks odd but if you dont mind then who cares, it's your guitar
  3. You have the steps right, you just have to decide what you want to use. You had a suggestion given to you but you don't seem so sure about it. Research them both and you choose. Also, I dont see any veneer on there, but I could be wrong. Good luck.
  4. It looks really good. You can only get better, so keep at it. Good luck.
  5. I do have another one if you really want it. I'm not sure how much shipping would be to UK, but that's about all it would cost you. For wiring, how about, Three volumes, a master tone, and the three way switch just selects one pickup at a time. The only wiring I've done is swapping out a few pickups, so I dont want to get myself into anything I would get too overwhelmed with and never finish. Is there anywhere I could get a diagram for this wiring? Once again thank you all for your replies.
  6. Are you looking for only gibson or epiphone? I have a 70's Electra lawsuit body that I am selling. If your at all interested I can get pictures.
  7. I was going to say it looked just like a mini humbucker until you took the base plate off! I thought the same thing, Now I have no idea what it is. This actually came from a guitar body I've had for a while but i have no clue what brand it is. The guitar is a pearlescent white, double cutaway, semi-hollow body. I'll search around a little more and see if I can put a model to it. Thanks guys Edit: Wow, I actually found it this time. It's from a daisy rock 12 string and it is a mini-humbucker. http://www.daisyrock.com/products/stardust...oH_12string.htm I was thinking about putting it in my Epi LP, between the two full size humbuckers. What would be some of my options for wiring and controls? I would like to keep only four pots if possible.
  8. Okay, I desoldered it to find that the pickup is contained itself inside the cover. Rather than being screwed to the baseplate. By what I can see I still have no idea what this pickup is. I didn't want to force the pickup out of the cover without checking with somebody here. It looks like a maybe theres one magnet in the center of the pickup. But I am really not sure. Here's a picture.
  9. Thank you for the verey quick reply. It's a no name pickup so no model number. I might as well start heating up my soldering iron now.
  10. Quick question that I'm sure most of you wont have trouble answering. I am still fresh in the electronics territory. Is this pickup a single coil or a humbucker? It measures, not including the ring, 1 1/8" by 2 5/8". Thank you mucho, Adam
  11. You could order one from Warmoth. With binding and a satin finish it would be between 300-400 dollars.
  12. Very cool finish. I can't tell what it is yet but it looks pretty slick.
  13. I am selling an older Gallien-Krueger 800rb bass head. The 800rb is a 400W Bi-Amp head, with a four band EQ, three voicing filters, and weighs about 23lbs. This is the rack mountable version, as opposed to the type with a handle on the side. Today it is still the choice of countless players, touring bands, and back line companies, and is the foundation upon which all Gallien Krueger bass amplifiers are built. I have not had this head for long, and never got to buying a cab for it (I just keep on buying more guitars ). So I have never plugged this into a bass cab, but I tested it through an 8 ohm guitar cabinet. It sounded great but I didnt turn it past 2 as to not damage my speakers. It has a few minor scratches on the top from being put in and taken out of a rack only once, and scratches around two of the mounting holes. This head still has all of the knob caps, unlike a lot of other, older G-K amps. It also has rubber feet for setting on top of your head, or a desk or table for recording. This amp will never be outdated. It is an industry standard and a huge part of amplifier technology history. I bought this head for $450 a few months ago, and am looking to get $400 now, but I am deffinetly willing to make a deal. Sad but true I am selling this amp to put money towards another guitar.
  14. I use black, rit brand dye. I've also used black leather dye but it seemed to wear off unlike the rit. Could have just been the different pieces of wood but I stick with rit. And it doesnt make it completely black, just a lot darker
  15. Ah, thank you. I really should have looked around a bit more. It's actually all on the floyd website. :/ But I do appreciate your reply. Best Wishes
  16. Hah, that is so cool man. I cant wait to see it in there.
  17. Hey brothers, Does anybody know if i could change out my liscenced floyd lo-pro for an original floyd rose? I don't know if it would work becare the fine tuners and the lock screws are switched around on the two. I'm not sure if the original would be too big for the lo-pro's cavity. Here is some pictures in case anybody is not familiar with the lo-pro. The reason I want to swap it is the liscenced floyd is wearing really bad and i finally decided I need to get a choice bridge. Here is the lo-pro that came stock http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...;category=41407 Heres an original floyd http://guitarpartsdepot.com/Merchant2/merc...d-Rose-Tremolos Thank you all for your piece of time, -AJC
  18. Haha my mistake, I searched it and didnt find anything either. Those knobs seem even cooler now
  19. Never seen or heard of one before. It looks very scetchy with those knobs too. Not sure why someone would make one and sell it fot $10.
  20. Great, thats all i needed to know. Thanks a ton, AJC
  21. Im not sure of the best place to post this but, would I be able to plug this effects unit directly into something like a 2x12 cabinet? Or does it have to be run through an amp first? Heres the unit: http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Ton...ssor?sku=180438 thanks brosephs, AJC
  22. Perhaps if you had a picture, somebody could help you.
  23. Thats crazy man, Thats exactly what i decided about five minutes ago. Glue it up, Then rout 2 channels and inlay a couple pieces of ebony. Thanks a lot guys. -AJC
  24. Do you know where i could find a premade set neck for an lp?
  25. Hey Everybody. Just today I bought a Les Paul with a broken off headstock. It broke very cleanly, and I am not left with much surface area for glueing. Ive fixed a headstock break like this before, but it had a lot of long pieces of wood sticking out that easily fit back together and deffinetly helped make it stronger. Basically I need opinions on how to glue this baby back together and not be afraid the headstock is gonna fly off while im playing. The only thing i could think of is using dowels. I did my best to take clear photos on my camera phone , so bear with me. Hopefully I posted these correctly!
