  1. I have a little bit of alder that looks like that.
  2. They look awesome, not fancy on the headstock though but the bodies are really nice! Thanks Wez!
  3. I had a few things in mind for this timber, one was a carved top PRS style single or double cut, the other was a double cut LP junior (seeing as i have enough for almost 3 two piece bodies and as many necks i could do both) I will see what i think once the body shape is cut out, then i might decide i want a carved top.
  4. Nice shape, but i think that the top horn is a bit too long...again if you like it, build it!
  5. Looking very nice so far, definitely an improvement over the standard strat!
  6. No carve on a Junior, hence why i chose it for something simple.
  7. Hi fellow Project Guitarists, I have just been handed a few meters of 1 1/4 (32mm) thick Mahogany of some description and wondering whether anyone on this forum has made a body of a similar thickness? I was planning on building a LP junior or a LP junior PRS hybrid if that helps in anyway? I heard of some guitars by Black Machine (i think?) that were about this thickness, so i guess it should work but any opinions/tips/ideas/anything would help! Thanks, RG
  8. It would be the same size, as LP is to LP junior. The bevels can be done a number of ways, spokeshaves, rasps etc..
  9. They are wider than the 1/4" rods, i believe they are almost 1/2"?
  10. I listen to music when I'm in the workshop, relaxes me i guess.. As for how i listen to said music, ipod through workshop sound system (couple of speakers in 2 corners)
  11. That is my perfect body shape...amazing it looks like you successfully teamed ergonomics with aesthetics. Anyway, congrats on an amazing build so far!
  12. Absolutely brilliant! How does she play?
  13. I hate schecters neck profile... Nobody can say no to an Ibanez Universe!
  14. Thinking the same thing too...Hopefully that is not the case.
  15. I didn't think dimebag actually really used the dimebucker? i thought he generally used the L500XL but got paid to have his signature on a similar looking pickup? (ie, dimebucker)
  16. Looks great, very nice finish. Playing is great too!
  17. Ohh, thanks! I didn't give it a good look over. Cheers, rg
  18. Nope, different species of mahogany, your neck appears to be Sapele.
  19. width is under 90mm wide, possibly 80mm iirc.
  20. Hi, I need a few dimensions for an original JEM, i have the blueprint from jemsite but it is missing depths. Anyway heres what i need: -Pickup cavity depths. -Electronics cavity depth including switch section depth. -Lion Claw depth/Bridge routing depth. -Neck pocket depth. Thanks to anyone can answer any of those! Cheers, RG
  21. Interestingly enough, i found some hard eucalypti that looked the same as your top, though it still looks like myrtle. I used to use a handsaw and the good ol' stanley to do my headstocks, but now its all router and jointer work.
  22. I went through my boards today and found that most of the pieces had a very nice tap tone, some sustained forever and some just didn't ring. I think i will build a neck and see what happens from there. Cheers, RG
  23. Sie sind ein Schweinhund. lol, the only german i can remember from school...
  24. That's one mighty nice top you got there Stu, any plans for it yet?
