  1. That sander idea is genius. Nice lookin' guitar as well, but I really like the sander lol
  2. oh yeah, I saw one of those, or something like it, in the woodcraft magazine I got, looks cool.
  3. Damn, if only I had money, I would so go for that..... Let us know, if you don't mind, how much it ends up goin' for
  4. So you're sending that to me right? I've always wanted a reso....hehe AWESOME job on that man. That is incredible. Beautiful.
  5. You should be ashamed of that, you need to send it to me right away so you don't ever have to look at it again. That looks awesome, I LOVE the swirl.
  6. I don't know, but in the hardware store I work at we carry a product that's just called The Dry Lube. It's got teflon in it I know, seems like it be helpful. It's apparently nice for usin' on the tables of bandsaws, table saws, jointer, etc. This is it http://www.thegreathardwarestore.com/Produ...&click=2744
  7. What DC Ross said is what I was gonna mention. You need a bigger circuit if you rewire it, that's why when I was lookin' at them before, still haven't gotten one , I was lookin' at 14" ones only, cause I only have a regular circuit available and it would be kept at my parents.
  8. OOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHH PRETTY............. I really like the veneer
  9. I really like that headstock, it's really cool.
  10. Ummmm, I don't get it I hate to sound stupid, but could you explain?
  11. I got a couple millers fall planes off ebay (14 and 9 inch I believe) for a decent price (50 bucks). I haven't gotten to use them, no time since I moved, but they appear to be well made. All they need is a little sharpening and a little rust removal, no pitting or anything, and they should be good to go.
  12. The build's lookin' good. And to answer your question, yes, I have a benchtop jointer I would be willing to part with, unfortunately I'm in michigan and it's heavy enough it would probably be too much to ship. If you happen to be in east lansing with an extra long body blank sometime though, it's all yours
  13. Same thing with Slash's les paul not actually being a Gibson. I would say its a different situation, at least with slash, not sure if the jake e lee one would apply. For slash's it was a ghost builder who was paid to put the gibson logo on the guitar, so that, while being somewhat unethical, would be legally fine.
  14. An update, well, sorta, an update of why there have been no updates lol. I moved out of my parents about two and a half months ago. I no longer have the disposable income to buy guitar stuff, including the router bit I need also no time to work on it, I'm actually supposed to be installing a garbage disposal/fixing the shower faucet/cleaning the dishes/cleaning the backroom..... anyway, just thought I'd let any who may have been wondering know what's goin' on and why nothin' has been done on this, hopefully soon I'll have some extra income, parents are hopefully gonna cover my rent and utilities so I can be called a dependant so I can stay on their insurance
  15. Well, as far as being a college student with no money to build guitars, I'm right there with ya. I moved out with my girlfriend a few months ago so I haven't done any work on my guitar, it's just sitting there in the closet, mocking me with it's lack of pickup and control cavities......
  16. Look for B C Rich 10 and 12 string guitars, they do it with tuners at both ends.
  17. There is no if, it is off. It's an elliptical shape, not a circle. however, it's probably not off by very much at all. Depending on the person, what their tolerances are for this sort of thing, it's negligible. I don't think it would make enough of a difference at all to matter.
  18. I don't see why that wouldn't work. I would suggest sandwiching between two pieces of glass. It's extremely flat, not very expensive, and doesn't really flex.
  19. Yeah, I don't know that I'd ever actually build one, but I'd also be very curious how you built it.
  20. I would really say 600 maybe 800, but I'd go 600, otherwise the paint won't have much of any tooth to hold on to and it could peel.
  21. Dude, you should build a cello. That's exactly what I was thinkin'
  22. I'd say just scuff* the exsisting finish and paint over it. I'd use 600 grit. *scuff means sand so that there are no shiny spots anywhere in the finish, paint won't adhere to the shiny spots.
