  1. Well, it sucks that it happened. I'd say try gluin' it, you got nothin' to lose really and a board that could be saved.
  2. oh man, I can't stop clicking this thread just to look at the first two pictures you posted, I love it. The inlay looks really clean too, great job. I can't wait to see it finished.
  3. Nice egg!!!! oh, I guess the neck's lookin' ok too I really like this bass, it's lookin' really cool
  4. oh man, that sucks, how did it get thrown away?
  5. As far as a drill press, like has already been said, the bigger ones are better and more useful. Someone else mentioned it, but I'll mention it again, if you can find used tools it can be a good investment, you just have to check to make sure they are in good condition. I got a 15" drill press I think it is, used from a pawn shop, it's about half size of a floor model but much bigger than the normal benchtop. It's also only a five speed so it doesn't have a laser or anything fancy, just a light, which can come in handy later at night. I got it for 80 bucks, that's cheaper than a lot of smaller benchtop drillpresses. The chuck is perfectly straight and whatnot, no rust or anything on it. Anyway, if you're lookin' for stuff check out pawn shops and the like, you might be surprised what you can find.
  6. I really like this build and seeing you make your own trem and whatnot. I'm very interested to see how the trem ends up workin' out, it's lookin' really good so far.
  7. Looks like an awesome build to me, but I also have to question why you put the gibson logo on it. It's not a gibson, it would be illegal to sell it as such, assuming you made it well it could be better than a gibson, and it looks like you did, and being that it appears to be very well made, why wouldn't you want to show off your ability with your logo?
  8. Man, this is lookin' awesome, I can't wait to see how it finishes up.
  9. That's an awesome idea rick, I may have to try that on my build
  10. Wow, that back of that neck is GORGEOUS!!!!! It's a great lookin' instrument overall.
  11. That's a cool guitar, very nice and simple. I imagine it sounds good. Looks cool
  12. He's taken up airbrushing? NNNOOOOOOOOOO now he's gonna make more people look bad lol or I guess maybe he'll make them look good by comparison hehe
  13. What sort of strings are you gonna use with this? is it gonna be double ended ones? cause if it is I don't see how you're gonna string them through. I really like watchin' the whole thing comin' together.
  14. Now that you mention it I do see the pickguard, a les paul type right? It's rather difficult to see, cool idea.
  15. First off, that's a really cool guitar strap. I really like the seatbelt thing, I think I'm gonna have to steal that idea from ya lol. Now onto the guitar. It looks like you did a really good job on the guitar. I really like the top. What's the greenish streak by the bottom G hole? I really like the G holes too, that's a cool idea. I don't like the shape, just not my thing, but that's only personal, looks like you did a great job in the construction. Oh, that inlay in the back is really cool too.
  16. I LOVE that blue. It's very beautiful guitar. I can see where the inlay be a little off, like to much space around it or whatever, but I think it still looks awesome and even a foot away or so I wouldn't think you'd notice, except that you know it's there, I really like it. Great job and I second gotm
  17. well, if you go by the original companies producing the instruments, there is a difference in the scale and pickups and whatnot, but there are so many companies producing the different shapes that you can probably find them in any scale length or pickup configuration and whatnot. If you really want to know the differences besides shape just go look up the specifications for the different ones you're interested in, you should be able to find them easily on the site's of the various companies.
  18. There's also the washburn wonderbar, you can find'em on ebay sometimes.
  19. Wow, I love that blue, it's your guitar and obviously up to what you like, but I really love how bright that is, awesome.
  20. Dude, it's sunday night, most people aren't on the net. Wait a day or two, I'm sure someone will come along with an answer.
  21. I gotta go with the dean wing headstock. I just love that giant thing on guitars, I love ml's and explorers, so that helps a lot too.
  22. I've seen it go to a ruby color, but not brown, but I imagine it could.
  23. Well, you could do a purple burst, that'd be cool. Or I think green would be cool too, but I love green.
  24. You could, but it's not reccomended. Primer isn't supposed to be used as a color, it is specifically to make other paints adhere. If that's the color you want I would say just find or mix that color of paint and paint over it.
