  1. kinda reminds me of Alice in Wonderland, so happy non-birthday to all... so long ace
  2. We need to get this guy aboard here I think. so long ace
  3. Although I've been to new here to know him, my thoughts are with Lee and his family. Have a nice one with Leo, Bernie Sr. and the other guys up there so long ace
  4. Joe Despagni's lawyer might be interested in THIS one... http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...item=2369896985 I think it would be more than cool to play one of those "flower" guitars on the encore of your death metal band's gig... so long ace
  5. Well that way you'd also have to get the wires across the neck pickup cavity...not such a big deal soundwise but when I thought about how to do such a thin I always envisioned a rear rout for the power supply and a little switch on the top of the guitar so long ace
  6. All your base are belong to us... I want that Fernandes in the 2nd row, it looks like something Paul Gilbert would play back in the day...other than that, the Kramer for 111 €uros would be a nice addition to my stable. so long ace
  7. I did Shotokan Karate up to the blue belt. I had started with Tae Kwon Do but after like two months I switched to Karate because some friends of mine did it. One of those girls has the black belt now I think. In my Gym they offered a Wing Tsun self defense class which was cool but they don't have that no more. I'd like to do Jeet Kune Do or Krav Maga but it's hard to find something like that here. I don't want to do any of that Tae Bo crap either so my gym doesn't give me an option anymore. Mind you, I say Tae Bo crap only because it doesn't have that much of a self defense aspect, it's a fun aerobics alternative, but not really a martial art. If I had time I would like to do some classical Kung Fu or Ninjutsu but time is precious and my guitar skills need time, too... so long ace
  8. err...what do you mean with not enough room? just make the holes large enough to go around the LEDs. Or do you think the LEDs are too tall? I'm pretty sure there are LEDs around small enough to pull it off, I've seen LED inlays on quite some guitars so far so it is feasible, maybe Snork can give you some advice on where to get assorted LEDs. Oh and I don't think it would make much of a difference to make them blink or just be on/off, you just need a simple control unit which you can put into the cavity in the body along with the power supply. Perhaps just go to your local electronics store and have them show you some of their LED related stuff... so long ace
  9. The back of the pot isn't aluminium by any chance? j/k I think cleaning the back of the pot should help as has been stated before. But now something to think about for all you electron-savvy guys out there: if aliminium oxide is non-conductive and the surface of aluminium is ALWAYS covered by the oxide, how does current flow if you hold two pieces of aluminium together? That's not a trick question, btw so long ace
  10. You're soooo asking for a wisecrack return to this one man, but I'll just welcome the new guy and take the rest to the slam thread... so long ace
  11. What's the name of that book...the "Kench that stole PG"...sorry couldn't resist... welcome aboard so long ace
  12. Would you kindly not hijack this thread so long ace
  13. Oh alright that's what I thought too, just wanted to make sure before I vote, got a little confused. As for the vote, I'm gonna give it to any of the Rye guitars...love them thinlines ;-) so long ace
  14. How did Slash creep up in your pics...and how did he lose 80 pounds for the pics? J/K...nice work and don't take everything in here so seriously mate. You're getting the well-earned respect for your work and if you quit asking "are you gonna give me some respect now?" you'll get double. Everyone in here gets picked upon at times and noone takes it too seriously because we are united by the love for great guitars even if opinion exchange on other topics tends to get rough at times. Along those lines: Peace out and love one another (in a non-gay way or not, whichever you prefer) so long ace
  15. Isn't Rye's guitar listed twice? I thought the carved mahogany top with the F-Holes and the RH1 prototype were the same axe? so long ace
  16. Damn if it's paul gilbert I just desperately hope that it's gonna be some time when I'm in the U.S. coming summer. That would just be total service: stay at LAMA for one week, add some vacation and go to see G3 so long ace
  17. Righty...what the title says. Which guitarist(s) would you like to see in upcoming G3 events and why? I'll commence: Paul Gilbert: alternate picking semi-god, a great fun stage persona and in my opinion overlooked by many at the moment (unless you're in Japan) Steve Lukather: Owns the L.A.. studio scene, has a lot of nice solo songs and the chops to go with it. Matthias 'IA' Eklundh: Craziest guitar techniques I've seen for a while, very unique and fresh sound more later so long ace
  18. I can recommend all that is M-Audio based on the quality of their Midiman 2496 and reviews from other users. so long ace
  19. C'mon Dan he's showing initiative so cut him some slack ;-) so long ace
  20. Didn't Rocktron or some other well-known effects company come up with a wireless switching for their rack units? so long ace
  21. GTO or shirt? Nah...looks real good, definitely an Eye-catcher (both shirt and car). If you move the back writing up a bit it should be perfect. so long ace
  22. My condolences dude. Should you find that asswipe, break his thumbs and make sure the ambulance guys wrap them up so the bones grow together crooked. so long ace
  23. Hmm...so I guess Alex Skolnick of Testament was one of the remaining three guys who did NOT make it in the music biz? I thought I was pretty sure he used to be one of Joe's Students, too... Whatever, very inspiring story about how Satriani taught them...that's gonna teach me ;-) so long ace
  24. I THINK (and that's where the danger lies) that one of the foremost characteristics of Plywood is that there is ample glue between the wood layers and that Plywood is used because it is light and cheap compared to massive wood. So like BP stated above I would not call this plywood but laminated as well. Normally however, a laminated body consists of pieces that are joined at the sides, not stacked atop of each other, but a 3-piece body is a 3-piece body in my opinion. so long ace
